  21. Raising Housing’s Stock Student Housing Projects Union Gardens Trinitas Development submitted plans for a new housing project titled “Union Gardens” in North Urbana. Union Gardens will develop a total of 40 acres spanning over both Urbana and Champaign of housing aimed at students. At present, a total of 406 units are planned, with 160 units planned for construction in Urbana. The project will feature 1 and 2 story units modeled to appear as single family homes.

  22. Raising Housing’s Stock Student Housing Projects Château Normand Pierre Moulin purchased the former Zeta Tau Alpha sorority house at 1404 S Lincoln Ave in 2017. In 2018, Mr. Moulin renovated the building into an 18-unit apartment building.

  23. Raising Housing’s Stock Student Housing Projects The Retreat The Retreat at Urbana began construction in 2018. Located just north of the train tracks and University Avenue at the former American Water site, the 128 unit townhome-style development includes 26 residential buildings and a clubhouse. The total project cost is estimated to be over $27 million and the project hopes to be completed by August 2019.

  24. Raising Housing’s Stock Student Housing Projects 809 Nevada Green Street Realty completed construction on a new brick apartment building at the intersection of Lincoln and Nevada. The $3.5 million project consists of a three story 18-unit building containing three-bed, three-bath units. Units are currently available to be leased by the room or in full and feature granite counter-tops, furnishings, on-site parking, and stainless steel appliances.

Raising Housing’s Stock Student Housing Projects Gather In 2018 Dallas-based Rael Development Corporation proposed a new mixed-use development at the intersection of University and Lincoln Avenues in the City of Urbana called Gather. Gather will contain approximately 200 apartments, 16 townhomes and 50 extended-stay rooms, along with nearly 15,000 square feet of lobby, retail and outdoor public areas

  26. Raising Housing’s Stock Affordable Housing Projects Aspen Court TWG Development, LLC, located out of Indianapolis, received Low Income Tax credits in 2017 for the redevelopment of Aspen Court in Southeast Urbana. In 2018 the group worked to relocate current tenants and fjnalize planning. Complete renovation of the 140 rental units is expected to complete in three phases 2019.

  27. Raising Housing’s Stock Affordable Housing Projects Urbana Arts In 2018, Northbrook-based Brinshore Development proposed an arts-centered, affordable housing development for parking Lot 24. The 44-unit project would result in an arts- centered apartment building with six artist live-work units and an arts and cultural center to be operated by the City’s Arts & Culture program. The project would also include nine, single- family tiny homes on the site.
