3 GI AMCF 2014 CIRCUMCISION – OBEDIENCE TO GOD • Circumcision was Gods idea from the beginning. Genesis 17:9-12. • Sign of covenant between God and Abraham. • Obedience is always painful • The Israelites were to go through it painful as it was. 4 GI AMCF 2014 (I remember my 6 years of painful obedience 1973-1980) – God removed me from regular pay because he called me out. – Stripped me materially. – Locked me in prison for preaching when I was a theological student. 5 GI AMCF 2014 THE PASSOVER - A SIGN OF HUMILITY v10 • First God humbled Pharaoh after the first Passover.
