Nodal Analysis and Evaluation Methodology

27

slide-28
SLIDE 28

Nodal Analysis

What is a nodal analysis?

— Examinat ion of a series of parcels in each j urisdict ion that were identified in

comments.

— Examines opportunities to align the current/ future planning efforts with the GPs . — Intended to: S

erve all users + help guide area towards higher walkability & livability.

Schedule

— North S

egment coordination meetings 3/ 6 – 3/ 13

— S

  • uth S

egment meeting – to be scheduled

— Results presented at PAG Meeting #5

Outputs are high-level concept plans that:

— Are not prescriptive, or indicat ive of future policy — Consider adding additional network (over time) — Provide recommendations for developing land uses — S

how how land-use and transportation can work together to create great places

28

slide-29
SLIDE 29

Evaluation Methodology

Corridor-Wide and Segment Strategies

— Corridor-Wide examples include coordinat ion with PS

TA to consolidate bus stops and improve ADA accessibility, coordinate with local j urisdict ions to improve lighting, landscaping, and street furniture, and optimize signal timing where appropriate.

— S

egment examples include adding street parking, sidewalks/ wider sidewalks, and/ or bicycle lanes to portions of the corridor.

Intersection/ Spot Improvements and Safety Improvements

— Examples include bus pull outs, mid-block crossings, crosswalk treatments, etc. — Many can be implemented as standalone proj ects to address near-term needs.

Alternative Evaluation

— Alternatives will be developed at the segment or intersection level — Evaluation matrices will be developed to evaluate how well various segment or

intersection alternatives meet the needs associated with the five Guiding Principles.
