ZELUS ZELATUS SUM PRO DÓMINO DEO EXERCÍTUUM!

EDITORIAL The Karmel is a monthly editorial where we can share with you what we have received from the Most High Lord and God! The Carmelite Nuns of Primitive Observance are a Monastic Community which follows exclusively Catholic doctrine and the Traditional Rite of Holy Mass. We will meet each month in these brief reflections and open a little the veil that hides the true monastic life in the Church.

  • Sr. Rose Marie de

Saint Joseph

“Et induxi vos in terram Carmeli ut comederetis fructum ejus et optima illius” (Jr 2,7) PRESENTATION With joy and thanksgiving to God, who loves truth and justice, and to His Blessed Mother, we have, along with this monthly editorial, a simple but sincere apology for our position and our decision. Next month, we hope to be able to offer you a new apology, explaining the reasons why we joined S.E.R. Monsignor Williamson and the small movement called "Fidelité" or simply "Resistance", and all those who oppose the "ralliement" to modernist Rome. By sharing with you a little of our life and our spirituality, we hope to involve you in the beautiful Carmelite family, as well as the many graces that the Virgin graciously grants to those who honor as Lady of Mount Carmel! We count on your prayers for our Monastery and make sure you can count on ours! May these pages, with the grace of God, benefit your souls!

Mosenhor Lefebvre, sermão 22 août 1976 (" Écône, intégrale des sermons" Iris, 2015, p.197-198) "I do not know this conciliar Church, I only know the Catholic Church, so we must remain firm on our positions. For

  • ur Faith, we must accept everything, all

insults: that we are despised, that we are excommunicated, hit, persecuted. Tomorrow, perhaps, the civil powers will persecute us, it is not excluded. Why? Because those who are destroying the Church, at present, are doing the work of Freemasonry, e é a Maçonaria que comanda todos os lugares. If they realize that we are civilians, perhaps they realize that we are a force that can compromise their project, then governments will pursue us. "We will then go to the catacombs, we will go anywhere, but we will continue to believe; We will not abandon our faith. We will be persecuted, others have been persecuted before us for their faith. We will not be the first, but at least we will honor our Lord for being faithful, for not forsaking Him, for not betraying Him. It's what we need to do.” HOLY ELIAS PROPHET In the beginning… In the beginning God created heaven and earth ... and God made them in his own image and likeness, created them man and woman ... But sin entered the world ... and tried to keep away the human soul from its Creator ... In the plan of salvation, which springs from the Lonely Heart of the Eternal Father, Elijah came into the world, burning with zeal for his God. The Lord chose Mount Carmel in Palestine, so that Elijah would accomplish his feats and show his power. There, he was followed by Elisha and by many others sons of the prophets, with psalms, with songs and instruments of music, to help restore the faith of Israel, the chosen people. To restore the altars of the God of Jacob. And to praise Domina Loci, the Lady of the Place, the Blessed Virgin Mary, who with her presence the Holy Mount adorned. THE BISHOPS

  • ther part is better because it represents

the future life… Exactly because of that, this Gospel applies perfectly to the Feast of the

  • Assumption. Mary, (more than the other

Mary, Martha ´s sister), has chosen to be with the Lord! Today she is sat forever in front of Him! Everything can be good or even important, but one thing is really necessary: GOD! Even if it is after the death, everybody has to have this conclusion! Our Lady is raised above the angels because, in her free will, she has chosen to be with God, more perfectly than any angel, or any person. Our Carmel look today to Mary and admires her perfect spiritual search… Only one thing is necessary! To understand this is merely possible to those whom believe that we are citizens

  • f the heaven! Mary was always raised,

always going up! The Assumption was hardly a consequence of a continuous movement of her soul to be “secus Domini” (together with The Lord). This is being contemplative! Mary has valued the future life and because of that wanted to remain Virgin and Poor. She valued more the Heaven than the Earth: She had her eyes turned towards the eternal things. She didn´t cling to the material things, because the figure of this world fades. (1 Cor: 6,31). That Our Lady grants us a little of this joy that is reserved to those whom choose the best part!

  • Rev. Father Tiago of S. Joseph

THE BEST PART Today glows in our heart the ineffable brightness of the Morning Star (Stella Matutina)! All the creation is contaminated by the splendour of The Most Holy Virgin that, as a luminous ray, goes up to the most high of the sky! Veneranda nobis hujus diei, says the prayer of this feast. In fact, this day is remarkable for us, because by contemplating Mary been raised in body and soul to the heavenly glory, we realize how perfect is the joy of those who love God! Today´s Gospel, according to

  • ur rite, presents the figure of two

women, that are, both of them, figures of the Church: Martha, stagebat circa frequens ministerium; Mary sedens secus Domini. Here are described two attitudes: while one is serving, the other one is sat. To serve is good, to sit is better. To serve is to leave from itself, to give itself to others. To sit is to leave from itself, to be with God. This is not the sitting of the lazy or of the arrogant, that sit in front of their own ego, but the sitting in the presence of God, as that one who found peace: “Sub umbra illius quem desideraveram sedi” (Cant: 2,3) (Under the shadow of that one I wished, I sat.). This is the stability that the blessed

  • nes have in heaven! However, one of the

characteristics of the infirmity that knocked down over the Church nowadays is that she has become excessively ground, activist and “compromised with the world”. Despite Martha is important, the

expelled and sometimes even excommunicated for their adherence to the millenarian teaching that so many have sustained, which many civilizations have created, and multitudes of souls led to Heaven! Expelled from our own home, exiled in Paraguay, under the tutelage of a holy Bishop, Mgr Livieres, and Holy Priests, the Monastery grew so much that it needed more space to live and the Good God allowed a new feat! This time the Bishop and Father himself is deposed and expelled from his own Diocese for remaining faithful to the Eternal! A time when our limits were constantly tested. But exactly during this time our mission was getting more and more clear! We left our homeland, our home and

  • ur families once again and God brought

us to these lands, where we have not only family roots, but above all, we are connected to them by the bond of Christendom! Lands where the Christian faith was planted not without blood, not without struggle, not without everlasting love! So it was actually like coming home. Did you know that we have existed for a long, long time? Did you know when it all started until the day we started our little mission? Today I'm going to share a little bit with you about our history, where we came from, and why we insist on following, even when many would wish that we no longer existed... Over the months we will have the narrative of the nuns who lived ‘The Chronicles of Karmel’. From this caste we descend: from the sons of the prophets of Mount Carmel. Today more than ever we are called to help restore the faith of the people of God, to rebuild their altars destroyed by modernism, and to fight with the Carmelite Virgin

  • f

the Deserts, sometimes in the cold and silent night of incessant prayer, sometimes in the heat of the middle of the day, in the ardent struggle against the enemies of God. From this people was born the Santa Maria Monastery, in the city of Atibaia, next to the Santo Elias Monastery, of our brothers, the Carmelite Monks of the Primitive Observance. Share with us the life and mission of the Prophet Elijah. For 11 years the Monastery survived with official approval of the Diocese of Bragança Paulista. In 2013 we began our long walk towards the Horeb, to the hiding in Carit. A bizarre story to say the

  • least. In a world where "freedom of the

human being, equality and fraternity" are enshrined, some people are banished,

The nature of the Karmel, and remoteness from the world suggests that Karmel was created by the Lord for Monks and Nuns and their feat!

We do not use pictures of the Monastery or written by exaltation of a person and not even of a particular

  • community. But as a means of showing

the true face of monastic life. Introduce a little to the 'world' which he often doesn't know or think is dead, like 'the God of Nietzsche'! The monastic life is not even an 'easy' life, full of 'smiles' and parties as they are currently trying to make the young believe! But neither is it a life impossible to lead, without joy and 'abnormal'... Accompany us on this journey, and gradually we will be able to understand together what this 'traditional monastic life' is, which enchants many, bores

  • thers, but no one who sees it, at least

from afar, causes indifference, leaving at least a question, a question… It may seem like a certain narcissism to

  • ur

community, to feel too "persecuted and victimized", but this is not our intention in publishing such words! We are a tiny minority who 'suffer' for their faith… But in one they all meet. And in our little story, others may find relief and response, encouragement and companionship on the journey to the Principle and Reason of everything: God! So we decided not to shut up anymore… why shut up? Let us follow ... until He comes and with Him takes us and all who desire His Kingdom! Dear friends and benefactors As Chesterton said in Tremedous Trifles: "I didn't make the world, and I didn't make it paradoxical. It's not my fault, it's the truth, this is the only way to go to England... The only way back is to go somewhere else. The only way to go to England is to get out of it!” So too we apparently need to 'get out' of our beloved Church in order to finally be able to 'return', 'be' in her and help her! Even if not all our friends can make sense of this decision,

  • ne

day everyone will understand that Jesus died outside our beloved Jerusalem, but He was the Temple. Just as Elijah was persecuted by the King and Queen officials of Israel, today many are persecuted by the official authorities of the new Israel, the Holy Roman Catholic Church, for restoring the Altar of the Lord God and their true worship with the Traditional Holy Mass. Today we thank Monsignor Lefebvre and all who have valiantly kept the Tradition for us, Last minute workers who without merit can enjoy the ineffable goods of the Holy Roman Catholic Apostolic Church!

Living so close to nature has awakened something in us: we feel a need to imitate our Father and Principle, and from Him the "necessity" to create and recreate! And this has become our great goal: restore faith in hearts, show everyone that Heaven is a reality, that God exists! No, "He is not dead." It is true that we killed Him, but He Risen Glorious and we have seen His Glory! We can never be afraid to get off the ground, to jump and even try to fly: sometimes this can be your only way out! The Church suffers its passion, humanity continues in pain, but Heaven exists, and we want to leave something beautiful in this world, with our life, prayer, thought, writings, art, music, photos and videos, something that breaks

  • ur barriers and reach the soul, and bring

it to its Creator and Father! May it help above all, mankind to find the Path to Eternity, the Fatherland, the Everlasting Happiness!

In Jesu et Mariae, Ancilla tuae indignae, Mother Prioress

O Hábito do Carmelo Did you know that Carmel's usual Habit is black? With the cowl, dress that all the monks wear, and the white cover, as a badge of the followers of Saint Elijah, Prophet? The Discalced Carmelite from the sixteenth century, began using brown habit as we know it today. Even the Carmelites of the Ancient Observance, after a while, made this change to identify with others. However, we Carmelites of Primitive Observance have resumed the black habit. In fact, we follow the norms of the Primitive Monastic Life, especially Mount Carmel. Keep the soul busy in God! Let us save as many souls as possible to heaven, the

“It is the happy man who does the useless things; the sick man is not strong enough to be idle”. (Chesterton - Orthodoxy)

KARMELAND KIDS If the look is not satisfied Turn the door handle to enter! The signpost aroused an irresistible curiosity in the one who read it. The appearance of the door already attracted attention, very high, of noble and elaborate wood. And a pleasant odor coming from the wood itself, trapped the attention still more the one who had been captivated to look, and driven to

  • read. All this set of elements aroused

such a sense of mystery that few did not dare to do as the signpost said. I will now tell the story of someone who long ago dared to turn the knob. How this person has come to the door, it does not matter, even though they say that the road is tight, it is revealed to the many, the glances sometimes need to be sufficiently awake from sleep to recognize it. Maybe you've seen it from afar... But let us go back to the door handle ... it was not vulgar like the ones we see

  • ften. In a way it was, we can even say

magic, because it had shapes, sizes and colors varied according to who turned it. Sophia was a somewhat dreamy person, so her knob was of a brilliant, delicate gold and full of details. After a time agitated by the impression of that set, finally took a deep breath and

  • pened the door...
