  3. The Core Curriculum English Language & Literature 2 GCSEs 8 hours Maths 1 GCSE 8 hours Double Science 2 GCSEs 9 hours RE short course ½ GCSE 1 hour Personal, Social, Health & RoA 1 hour Citizenship Education Core PE 3 hours TOTAL HOURS 30

  4. The Optional Curriculum 20 hours Foreign Language 1 GCSE 5 hours (normally 1 st Language) GCSE 3 Options 15 hours or equivalent

  5. The Optional Curriculum for students not studying a Language – 20 hours GCSE 4 Options 20 hours or equivalent Applied Learning courses are recommended You may be recommended to choose the Support option

  6. The Optional Curriculum with Construction 20 hours City & Guilds Level 1 Construction 4 hours Certificate These students will do Core PE together – 4 hours instead of 3 hours GCSE 3 Options 15 hours or equivalent Applied Learning courses are recommended Support option may still be recommended

Students studying Italian in Year 9 can choose this as their GCSE Language, but the course is offered as a twilight only

Optional Subjects Business / Applied PE Support Computing Learning Support option Business BTEC Business GCSE CoPE Dance Computing Vocational Health & Social GCSE PE Creative iMedia Care BTEC ICT Construction Sport BTEC Students can only choose one PE course (Dance, PE or Sport BTEC) Students can only choose one of ICT, Creative iMedia or Computing Support option is for recommended students only

Twilight Courses After school classes running from 3pm to 5pm Triple Science for students wanting to take separate GCSEs in Biology, Chemistry and Physics Students will be taught in the same groups for science during the normal school day and in the twilight French or Italian allowing students to study an additional language Twilight courses require a two year commitment.

  13. Final Qualifications  All students can achieve up to 9½ GCSEs or equivalent  Support Option & Construction students: 1 GCSE less  Twilight courses will add to the total

  15. Top Section 1) The form is individual – your name, what language you study, whether you currently study CoPE or have support 2) You have been in a CoPE class in year 9 and so could choose CoPE as one of your options 3) We recommend that you choose the Support option

  16. Top Section 4) Interested in the RE upgrade to a full GCSE? I would like to upgrade to full GCSE RE using 1 hour of Core PE.  5) Interested in a twilight course? Triple Science  I would like to be considered for a twilight course French (we recommend that you only choose one). Italian
