Bargaining Update

• Four regional MECAs

– Northern expired March 18, in bargaining – Lower North Island expired June 18, in bargaining – Midlands expires 28 February 19, bargaining starting – South Island expired 31 January 19, bargaining starting

• DHBs – still unable to make a pay offer
• Government – still not agreed more funding

Equal Pay / Pay Equity

Collective Action Plan

A PLAN is being proposed:

• 1. A “We’re Serious” initial ½ day strike
• 2. Followed by a range of collective and strike activities

Any proposals for strike action must be voted on by members, and require a minimum of 14 days notice to the employers

Endorse the plan today, if no satisfactory offer forthcoming on 19-20 February; immediately ballot for Industrial Action

Meeting Resolution:

“That this meeting endorses the Collective Action plan and, if there is no satisfactory pay offer on 19-20 February, authorises the PSA to immediately conduct a secret ballot for an initial ½ day strike.”
