  21. Start to finish – the story so far…

  22.  A bank calls.  A visit to Torquay ensues.  Prodeck – a company in distress,  Set-up 2010 to provide decking kits via a website nationwide.  Developed a range of quality wooden gates.  Rapid growth,  Attention to marketing and production not matched by attention to figures, cash flow, forecasting or budgeting.  Financial reputation with card payment companies compromised which ruined cash flow.  Visits to Insolvency Practitioners followed.  Prodeck folded.

  23.  Gates and Fences UK Limited formed.  Selling, predominantly to end users via an e-commerce website, hand-crafted bespoke wooden gates.  One director and shareholder.  No investment.  No borrowing.  Nothing obtained from Prodeck.  Staff paid first, self- employed’s second, supplier’s third, director last!  Supplier relationships developed.  Interline Building Supplies.  Jolin Ltd – Landlord.  First Year - £842k T/O

  24.  In excess of £3 million T/O since start of Gate and Fences UK Limited.  Four Directors and Shareholders.  28 now employed, including one apprentice  Only £6k invested so far outside of cash flow.  Main wood supplier paid weekly.  Close working relationship.  Build account.  Production line in development since August 14.  Waste dramatically reduced.  Delivery to customer driving production rather than sales.

  25.  New Brand. EVADOR.  Bigger faster websites under construction.  Photo booth development.  Automation and add-ons.  Concessions being set up in major Garden Centre outlets.  No stock - just manned portal.  Opportunity to operate install teams.  Wrought Iron and Metal gate production line from April.  New premises sought.  Preferably Torbay and owned.

  26.  Long term strategies:  Identify systems, processes and policies for installation of ISO9001, and additional accreditations.  Further develop personnel  Devolve parts of the company in to group held organisations.  Continue to build for sale….even if we don’t sell it

  27.  Why did you start? …and what did you want?  To follow a passion?  A job ?  An income?  Not to have to have to answer to anyone?  Fame?  Admiration?  Respect?
