What is a study tour?

  • An educational holiday

– Tourist attractions – Company and university visits

  • Study case
  • Mandatory pre-program

– Lunch lecture(s) – Bonding activity/activities

Who can participate?

  • Mathematics and Computer Science students

– You must have obtained at least 60 ECTS or more at the TU/e or any other university – You must still be studying at the department during the study trip* * You can request the exam committee to delay your graduation according to the OER/PER

How are the participants chosen?

  • The participant will be drafted by pulling

straws

  • The first 24 names pulled are able to join the

study tour, the order they were chosen in does not matter

  • People who do not submit a CV will not be

drafted!

How are straws rewarded?

  • Every participant is given one straw
  • A master student will get one extra straw
  • Past participants lose one straw (including former

committee members)

  • Based on the CV extra straws are rewarded/lost

– One straw is rewarded for extra soft skills – One straw is rewarded for extra hard skills – One straw is lost if the CV is below average

  • Past participants can only get one straw maximum

(with the exception of former committee members)

  • An extra straw might be rewarded to students from a

study that is underrepresented.

Vaccinations

  • Recommended vaccinations are:

– DTP (diphtheria, tetanus and poliomyelitis) – Hepetitis A/B – BMR/MMR (Mumps, measles and Rubella)

  • Vaccinations are at your own expense,

however for safety reasons we have chosen to make some vaccinations mandatory, more information will follow later

Case Selection process

  • Cases will be given to the participant best

suited for the job based on CV

  • We are aiming for 100 hours per participant,

but the first goal is to provide a case for everyone

What are the costs?

  • The entire trip will cost approximately 3400

euros per participant plus a safety deposit of 250 euros

  • Roughly half the amount will be payed for by

your business case

How can you pay?

  • Upon subscribing a deposit of 50 euros is
  • required. If you did not make the cut then this

amount is redeposited immediately.

  • The rest can be payed in three terms.

– The amounts will around 600/650 euros each term – The final payment is adapted based on the money

  • btained from your case

– The term dates will be communicated in due time

How can you subscribe?

  • Subscribing is done online via saffa.nl starting

today until April 14th

  • When subscribing make sure you have a

document of your curriculum vitae that you can upload

  • After subscribing you will be asked to deposit

the 50 euros, more information can be found in the registration form
