We are aiming to give single-use plastic
the boot with the Premier League Primary Stars Plastic Pollution Challenge.
As a year group we are entering this
- competition. But , we need your help !
Imagine a world where 90% of seabirds eat at least a bit of plastic in their lifetimes, where sea mammals get tangled in plastic, where marine life dies because of mistaking plastic for food. We don’t have to imagine this. It is reality. This is what's happening…
Our school pledge is:
Reduce the amount of plastic in our school lunch
- boxes. We will aim to not use cling film, zip lock bags
- r wrap any of our lunches in plastic wrappers. We will
use reusable boxes instead. We will deliver assemblies to all other classes in the school to make them aware
- f our challenge and encourage them to do the
- same. We will take the measurements at the start of
- ur pledge and at regular points to assess the
reduction in plastic. We will place our pledge on our website, newsletter and also ask our teacher to participate in our pledge too.
We need YOU to help us on our journey to bring single use plastic to an end. You can help us by NOT bringing plastic cling film or zip lock bags. We have recently been on a litter pick. On our first trip, we collected 13 full bags of litter. 6 days later, we went on another one. Luckily, we only collected 11 bags. This is only 2 bags less, but this is an improvement.
You may see us in the hall collecting plastic cling film from your lunch boxes. We will be in our red buddy uniform wearing hats and bum bags. We will be taking pictures of how much plastic we have collected over the course of lunchtimes over the week.
ANY QUESTIONS?
Look out for our pledges
