  7. Our tardy policy has been developed to emphasize the importance of each student arriving on time to school and to each class period, throughout the day. Learning the responsibility of getting to school and to class on time is an integral part of Lake Nona Middle School’s standard of academic excellence.

  8. Students should arrive to school by 9:20 AM .  If a student arrives to school after 9:30 AM, the  student will report to class. The tardy will be unexcused; Tardiness to school for reasons such as oversleeping, car/ traffic problems, etc., will result in an unexcused tardy. Some tardies may be excused, by a school official, under  one of the following circumstances; court appointment, illness of the student, doctor or dental appointment. * Please note: Documentation will be required to excuse tardies (doctor’s note, court appointment notice, etc.)

  9. SAFE HARBOR PROVISION If a student who is in possession of an item of contraband, which is prohibited by the Code of Conduct, (such as a pocket knife, drugs, etc.) voluntarily surrenders the item as soon as he/she realizes that it is in his/her possession to a responsible staff member, then the student may be eligible for mitigation, in whole or part, of the penalty for possessing the item as appropriate under the circumstances. To qualify for this provision, such surrender must occur prior to the beginning of any investigation or search that might uncover the item. The student’s parent/guardian will make arrangements to pick up the object from school, if applicable.

  10. Clean tables, pick up any food or other items from the floor and place your trash in garbage cans .

  11. Treat your classmates with RESPECT.

  12. IF YOU NEED HELP WITH A PROBLEM ALWAYS ASK A SCHOOL OFFICIAL. IF SOMETHING HAPPENS TO YOU OR A CLASSMATE IN THE CLASSROOM, ALWAYS, ALWAYS TELL YOUR TEACHER! NEVER TAKE MATTERS INTO YOUR OWN HANDS!
