BFET – College Training
Basic Food Employment & Training (BFET) provides training and education with a goal of assisting Basic Food clients to attaining a living wage career. BFET services are available from all WA State community and technical colleges as well as many non-college community based organization (CBO) contractors.

Please note that each college administers the BFET grant in different ways to financially support students. Types of support might include: Jumpstart funding for tuition and fees until awarded Financial Aid Books and transportation assistance until awarded Financial Aid Eligible for Working Connections Child Care subsidy for college schedule Emergency Grant funding (depends on college) For ABAWDs, able to keep food benefits if not working

We are going to give you some different scenarios that sometimes come up with potential BFET clients. After each scenario, please talk with your table. After a minute or so of discussion, we’ll solicit answers from the audience. Participation will be rewarded with gold coins and freshly minted money.
