The mandatory courses in the programme are Analytical Mechanics, 7,5 credits, FK8001 Electrodynamics I, 7.5 credits, FK8003 Mathematical Methods in Physics, 7.5 credits, FK8005 Programming and Computer Science for Phycisists, 7,5 credits, DA7011 Quantum Mechanics III, 7.5 credits, FK8007 Statistical Physics I, 7.5 credits, FK8008

Given during first period... Electrodynamics (FK8003) and Quantum mechanics III (FK 8007) are necessary for the optional course Quantum field theory (FK8017). Quantum field theory is used as the framework for many branches of theoretical physics, FK8017 and FK8018 provide a solid basis.
