2017 Early Career Fellowships awarded to clinician researchers at Austin Health

Dr Jason Kwong is using metagenomics to improve the healthcare of patients with infections. Dr Ada Cheung is exploring the effects of testosterone and oestrogen on body composition. Dr Peter de Cruz, is exploring new treatment therapies for severe inflammation of the large bowel.

What is the Process?

  • Careers Expo – Saturday 28th April – Austin Health will be giving

a 15 minute presentation; no booth

  • Apply online via PMCV and Health Services directly
  • Applications for Austin open – 1st May and close 1st June 2018
  • Applications need to be submitted by candidates along with CV,

cover letter and photo (see guidelines on the web)

  • Referee reports submitted to PMCV

  • We short list approx. 280 interview candidates down from the

total number of applications received (approx. 850 for 2018)

  • Short listing process undertaken (4th - 6th June)
  • Email invitations for interview (7th June)
  • Selection of interview time by candidates - all interviews conducted after

hours

  • Interviews take place: 12th – 20th June 2018
  • Phone interviews also available; time TBC: contact DiT Coordinator Emma

  • Austin Health has an Aboriginal Employment Plan. All ATSI (Aboriginal and
