  5. Title I Requirements  Parent Involvement Plan What is it?  This is a plan that describes how Austin Road Elementary will provide opportunities to improve parent engagement to support student learning. ARE values the contributions and involvement of parents in order to establish an equal partnership for the common goal of improving student achievement. This plan describes the different ways that the school will support parent engagement and how parents can help plan and participate in activities and events to promote student learning at school and at home. How is it developed?  Austin Road Elementary welcomes parent input and comments at any time regarding the plan. All parent feedback will be used to revise the plan for next year. The plan is posted to our school website for parents to view and post feedback throughout the year. We also distribute an annual survey to ask parents for suggestions on the plan and the use of funds for parent involvement. Parents can also give feedback during our Title I events and the Spring C.A.R.E. Parent Task Force Meeting with school leaders to revise the plan for the following school year. Who is it for?  All students participating in the Title I, Part A program, and their families, are encouraged and invited to fully participate in the opportunities described in this plan. Austin Road Elementary will provide full opportunity for the participation of parents with limited English, parents with disabilities, and parents of migratory children. Where is it available?  At the beginning of the year, parents can edit the plan during the C.A.R.E. Parent Task Force Meeting. It is distributed to all parents through the Wednesday Folders and email. Parents can also retrieve a copy of the plan in the Parent Resource Center and on the website at http://schoolwires.henry.k12.ga.us/Page39498.

  11. What’s the difference? School Funding vs. School Account vs. Title Funding vs. P.T.O. Funding

  12. School Funding: .  Money allocated by the state per pupil enrollment.  Your per pupil enrollment goes where you are suppose to go.  Money is used to purchase instructional items for students, support student achievement, maintain building, purchase school chairs, furniture, etc.  Tax dollars at work!

  13. School Account  Money the school works for in order to support students, teachers activities etc...  Money comes from fundraiser sales, school store, ice cream sales, donations, school sponsored events

  14. Title I Funds  Money allocated by the Federal government with strict guide lines. The money is used to “level the playing field” for students.  Most of the money is usually absorbed in salaries. Remaining money must be used to help balance out the environment for students and give them an advantage.

  15. P.T.O. Funds  Money taken in by the P.T.O. to support school centered activities to help increase parental and student involvement.  P.T.O. activities support school activities.

  16. Title I Fund Allocations for 2016-2017  Total Allocation: $176,850.00/$169,375.00  Per Pupil Allocation $760.00/$625.00  Salaries for Math Coach, Literacy Coach, 1 Teacher, and 1 Parent Involvement Person: $183,367.88/$100,610.42  Remaining Balance: -$76,240.00/-$7,475.00  Minus $3,757.00/$3,200.00 towards Parent Involvement  Balance Remaining: -$68,764.00

  24. Housekeeping “HOUSEKEEPING” • Make sure we have updated contact information. • List everyone and anyone you want to have contact with your child. • Make sure your child’s teacher is provided a written note each time transportation changes. • Bring ID each time you or anyone else checks out your child. • Escort your child in the building after 7:45 a.m. • No office check-outs after 2:00 p.m.
