Ukrainian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (UVCA) was established TO SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT UKRAINE’S ACHIEVEMENTS AND OPPORTUNITIES and to support investors in every aspect, from providing reliable information to establishing international connections at the industry and government levels. Legal

The Legal Committee is created to maintain the proper working conditions for the participants of the investment environment in the legislative field of Ukraine. The Legal Committee takes part in the development and lobbying for the draft laws, legislative acts and promptly reacts to changes in Ukraine’s legislative field of the investment sector. Blockchain

The Blockchain Committee was created to promote the technology of distributed registry to the business environment of Ukraine, popularize the modern way of attracting investment through ICO and create fair legal conditions for the use of cryptocurrency in the economy of our country. LOBBYING

Corporate Governance in LLC Ukrainian Parliament passed the law

  • n LLC’s Corporate Governance in

February 2018. The Law implements international practices in corporate regulation

  • f private companies, sets rules for a

pledge for corporation rights, introduces shareholder agreements, protects minority shareholders’ rights as well as allows flexibility

regulation for private company shareholders. The Law will also increase Ukraine’s Doing Business ranking. State Investment Projects Financing The Law simplifies the procedure of

  • btaining state support for investment

projects by changing the role of the State Register of Investment Projects from permissive to informative. It allows projects that have been granted state support, as well as state investment projects, to be put in the State Register of Investment Projects in

  • rder to monitor their implementation.

Simplification of Employment of High Quality Foreign Specialists The Law allows highly skilled foreigners, including those in the IT sector, to obtain the work permit easier.

Fund of Funds

UVCA consistently promotes the Fund of Funds (FoF) project, that will invest in existing and new venture funds in Ukraine on a competitive basis, and could finally invest in more than 3000 already existing Ukrainian startups. The implementation of this project will become a catalyst for the Ukrainian innovation industry, and increase capital inflows of investments into the country. Ukraine’s Prime Minister supported our offer to create the Fund of Funds. The Head of the Government offered to draft a concept of the FoF and combine its activity with the Council of Innovations. Volodymyr Groysman has added that following the discussion and approval of such a concept, the Government will have a chance to take part in the formation of the Fund’s budget.

Financial Health Forum in Kyiv

Village Capital and MetLife Foundation hosted the financial health forum for early-stage fintech entrepreneurs in Ukraine from October 30-31, 2018. The forum in Ukraine was part of a two-year initiative developed by Village Capital and MetLife Foundation focused on identifying fintech startups working to improve financial health for low to moderate income families fintech forum at UNIT.City in

  • Kyiv. 10 startups pitched in a Startup Showcase with 2 of them winning grants

totaling USD $10,000 each. Village Capital has partnered with UNIT.City and the Ukrainian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (UVCA) to convene top fintech stakeholders and recruit eligible startups.

UA TECH 2019 is a joint initiative of Ukrainian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (UVCA), Western NIS Enterprise Fund (WNISEF) and Concepter. UA TECH was established to introduce the capability of Ukrainian Tech products to the global market. UA TECH was present at the CES for the third year. The exhibition was held on January 8-11, 2019 in Las Vegas. The top 8 Ukrainian startups, selected by a team of Ukrainian and foreign experts and investors, were presented there.

This year UA Tech was represented by the following Ukrainian companies:

themed parks.

  • Flasty – a food 3D printer.

In 2018 was the second year when UVCA together with Western NIS Enterprise Fund (WNISEF) organized the UA TECH Pavilion at Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which consisted of top-10 IoT startups. In 2017 Ukrainian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (UVCA) together with Western NIS Enterprise Fund (WNISEF) organized Ukrainian national expo at CES, where the best startups presented their products for the first time.

The first-ever Ukraine House was organized by UVCA in partnership with Western NIS Enterprise Fund (WNISEF) and Victor Pinchuk Foundation in Davos, Switzerland in 2018. Ukraine House Davos 2019 was powered by co-organizers Ukrainian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (UVCA), Western NIS Enterprise Fund (WNISEF), Victor Pinchuk Foundation and Horizon Capital. The House ran a week-long venue under the theme ‘’Ukraine: Creativity, Innovation, Opportunity.“ A vibrant hub it showcased Ukraine to global leaders from business, politics and civil society, and presented Ukrainian business and investment opportunities. Designed in a contemporary style and located in the very heart of Davos, Ukraine House payed homage to Ukraine’s rich culture and national identity, at the same time, showcasing the country’s IT and technology sectors, sectors that embody the emergence of a new, creative and innovative generation of business leaders and new opportunities.

UVCA TOGETHER WITH ITS PARTNERS ORGANIZED UKRAINIAN DAVOS NIGHTS AIMING TO ATTRACT INVESTMENTS TO UKRAINE. The events gathered over 400 participants: investors, entrepreneurs, media representatives. The main goal of the events was to position Ukraine not only as the new technological leader but also as a country where new international R&D centers are opening and people are making successful investments. "Ukraine Discovery Tour" is a project created with the support of World Economic Forum initiatives - international youth organization Global Shapers Kyiv Hub, Young Global Leaders and in partnership with Ukrainian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association. The project is aimed at opening Ukraine for the international community with its success stories and developments, break the stereotypes on its internal transformation and improve the investment climate. We want to show Ukraine as it is - modern and progressive united with Europe, with its potential and progress, as well as to show what "doing business" and "living" in Ukraine looks like.

How does it go? Usually, the agenda of the privately organized tours includes meetings with the business leaders, social activists and entrepreneurs, media, IT gurus and other extraordinary and unique people working in different areas and industries for around 3-4 days. European Women in VC is the community of senior women investors (Managing Partners and founders of VC funds and Business Angels) that currently unites over 350 women from all over Europe.
