private sector development and earmarked some funding to support SME access to finance ✓ Proposed structure to best leverage the earmarked resources was a Financing Platform

financial engineering instruments (debt and equity), supported by a Technical Assistance Facility ✓ Platform Advisory Group representing the main WB EDIF stakeholders was established and the platform launched in December 2012

➢ In five years, WB EDIF established itself as an effective and integrated platform in support of SME access to finance ➢ WB EDIF is delivering tangible and measurable results – continuity is key ➢ Diversity of know-how and co-operative approach among EC, IFIs and local economies are assets to be preserved and enhanced ➢ Priorities to be reassessed and refocused based on thorough analysis of impact achieved so far, also taking into account the new landscape determined by accession strategy
