County of Fairfax, Virginia Silver Line Phase 2 Garages • Herndon Station – 2,006 parking spaces; Cost: $44.5 M; 87% Complete – Pedestrian and vehicular connections to the existing parking garage – Pedestrian and bicycle amenities, including a bike room – Road widening and improvements on site and on Sunrise Valley Drive – New access road from Sunrise Valley Drive to the existing garage – Existing garage modifications to accommodate the bridge connections from the new garage, new pedestrian path to Metro elevator, accessible parking spaces, and addition of revenue collection system – Future Transit Oriented Development (TOD) on the west side 4

County of Fairfax, Virginia Silver Line Phase 2 Garages Innovation Center • 2,070 spaces; Cost: $52 M; 62% complete • Pedestrian and bicycle amenities • Real estate exchange and development agreement with Rocks Engineering • Integration with the overall site with the private development • Shared infrastructure design and construction for the garage, retail, residential and office development • The overall partnership project includes the design and construction of roads, stormwater management, plaza, and other amenities for the 15-acre Transit Oriented Development 6

County of Fairfax, Virginia Pedestrian and Bicycle Connections Reston Metrorail Access Group • Recommendation Prepared in 2 Phases • Phase I (Wiehle-Reston East Station) - $20 M allocated 25 Phase I recommendations: – 19 complete – 1 in utility relocation and construction – 1 in design – 1 will be completed with Phase II – 3 under discussion with developers – Includes W&OD Bridge over Wiehle Department of Transportation 9

County of Fairfax, Virginia Transit Service Adjustments • Fairfax Connector service reconfigured as part the Silver Phase 1 implementation. – Tysons Circulator service implemented; RIBS revised – Service reoriented to feed Wiehle-Reston East Station – $4 million in new service (annually) added • Increased frequencies • Service to new areas • Additional late night and weekend service • Additional service changes will be implemented with Phase 2 – Outreach efforts beginning in Fall 2018 – Service concepts to be refined during 2019 – Herndon bus garage renovation nearly complete – Anticipate new service and more frequent service to all three new Fairfax County stations Department of Transportation 12

County of Fairfax, Virginia Improvements to Route 28 • Northern Virginia Transportation Authority allocated funding to multiple projects in the Route 28 corridor with HB 2313 revenues • FY 2014 priorities included two construction projects on Route 28 – Widen from 6 to 8 Lanes SB (Dulles Toll Road to Route 50) – completed – Widen from 6 to 8 Lanes NB (McLearen Road to Dulles Toll Road) – completed • FY 2015-16 priorities included design funds for widening Route 28 from the Prince William line to New Braddock Road. – Design, environmental and traffic work underway – Additional funding approved on 6/14 – Design–build procurement to begin in late 2018 • Other projects in Loudoun and Prince William Cos. County of Fairfax, Virginia Improvements to Route 28 • Remaining segment in Fairfax County north of Route 50. – NVTA did not allocate funding to this project in their FY 2018 to FY 2023 program – County staff will be submitting the project to the Commonwealth’s SmartScale funding competition on August 1, 2018 Department of Transportation 14

County of Fairfax, Virginia Reston Transportation Projects • Since February 2014: – Network analysis/prioritization completed – Board adopted Funding Plan – Board adopted a Comprehensive Plan realignment of Sunset Hills Road – Route 7 widening (Reston to Tysons) – design-build contract scheduled to be awarded on July 17 – Soapstone Connector (Sunset Hills to Sunrise Valley Drive) • Preliminary engineering underway • Environment document nearly complete • Historical assessment underway – Board approved $500,000 for Sunrise - W&OD Bridge over Wiehle advancing to land Valley/Fairfax County Parkway acquisition by end of 2018 intersection improvements Department of Transportation 15

County of Fairfax, Virginia Innovation Transportation Project • Davis Drive/Rock Hill Road Extension – New crossing of the Dulles Toll Road from Center for Innovative Technology to Sunrise Valley Drive – 4 lanes + bike and pedestrian facilities – Estimated cost: $100 M – Fairfax and Loudoun have each approved $500,000 for preliminary engineering – VDOT advancing preliminary engineering – NVTA approved an additional $20 M for this project on June 14 – Fairfax County requesting an additional $30 M through Smart Scale Department of Transportation 16

County of Fairfax, Virginia I-66 Express Lanes • VDOT awarded a design-build contract to Express Mobility Partners – Two express lanes in each direction (Gainesville to Beltway) • Construction Underway • Early Deliverable: – I-66/Route 28 Interchange – Eliminate four traffic signals on Route 28 north of Route 29 – Significantly enhance access to Dulles Airport from the south – Target Date: 2020 • Remainder of the project due to be completed in 2022.
