Background To improve Workplace Safety and Health awareness of construction workers, the Singapore Contractors Association Ltd (SCAL) has developed a Safety Induction Training App with support and guidance from the Real Estate Developers' Association of Singapore (REDAS) and Workplace Safety and Health Council (WSHC). A set of safety induction training slides was developed and made into a mobile application which can be downloaded

  • n both Android and Apple operating systems. This is to make

it convenient and readily accessible when you need it.

Objectives of Safety Induction Training Materials The Safety Induction Training materials provide pictorial guidance for workers to reinforce their workplace safety and health awareness on sites. In addition, the mobile application will allow users on-site, in particular, construction supervisors to access the training slides at any time to brief and educate workers.

Usage of Training Materials: SCAL would like to encourage all construction staff (such as safety personnel, project managers, engineers and everyone working in the construction industry), to use and promote this safety induction training mobile application to all your colleagues and friends. Contractors who already have your

  • materials. You can fuse SCAL’s SIT into your SIC to get the

best out of it. You can play it as slide show at the workers canteen or rest areas.

Usage of Training Materials: For Contractors who do not have your own SIT materials. SCAL’s SIT material is readily available for you to conduct your induction to your workers. You can even use it as a reminder to your workers during mass toolbox on selected

  • topics. Promote this app to your sub-contractors so that

they can brief their workers too. I hope all of us here have downloaded SCAL’s SIT App. Please disseminate this information to your colleagues and workers. With SCAL’s SIT App in hand, you can correct, remind and educate your workers at anytime on any day. However, please ensure that you are in a safe place and position before you do that.
