Lane Clearance Definition

Lane Clearance is defined as:

  • The removal of all crash related
  • bstructions from the travel portion of the

roadway.

  • Moving vehicle to the emergency

shoulder

  • Clearing crash related debris
  • Repair to damaged roadway

Scene Clearance Definition

Scene Clearance is defined as:

  • The removal of all crash related activity from the

entire roadway on which the crash occurred

  • Crash investigation is complete and all

vehicles removed

  • Moving the investigation to a secondary

location not directly affecting the normal flow
