August–December 2018

  • 1. Confirm the members of the volunteer Advisory

Committee and their roles

  • 2. Contract with consultants for plan and advisor for

workshops

  • 3. The committee will develop an engagement

calendar with a schedule of events --hire artists, set programs, secure venues, arrange press relations.

integration of arts into projects (i.e. placemaking).

  • 2. Launch a series of training sessions for local

artists

Consultants

Shelly Willis has 30 years experience in the arts field. She was the Public Art Director of the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission (SMAC) for the past 9 years where she managed the City and Counties Art in Public Places Program. She will coordinate with us to write the plan and train staff, volunteers and artists on best practices.

Jun-Li Wang is the Community Development Program Director at Springboard for the Arts. She has extensive experience in asset-based community development and place- based organizing. She will train artists to do the community engagement using their successful Ready,GO! Program.
