  2. 2015 TLT: Information Booth Project ▪ The intended purpose of the information booth is to provide a professional level of customer service to the public. This will provide a better communication between the public and local and state agencies. The information booth is currently used by U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, Oregon State Police and County Marine Deputy. ▪ By having an information booth at the Port of Garibaldi, we will be working with local and state agencies to better educate visitors to the area as well as other areas of Tillamook County. This will encourage visitors to create word ‐ of ‐ mouth advertising and referrals about the positive experience one enjoys while visiting. This will also offer sufficient information that no visitor as well as boater should leave uninformed of the vast range of opportunities available throughout the county.

  8. 2016 TLT: Event Tent Site

  9. 2016 TLT: Event Tent Site The event center is designed to have a seasonal solution to the immediate need in Starting With A Blank Slate: Tillamook county for a medium to large scale event center. Garibaldi would have a place for out of town guests to come gather for events like Oregon Tuna Classic; have large weddings with views of the bay and harbor; have a farmer’s market style seafood market; eventually host company retreats. Our goal was and is to create more reasons for people to stay and play in Garibaldi and Tillamook County.

  10. 2016 TLT: Event Tent Site This project is guaranteed to have a positive economic effect, not only on Garibaldi, but on the whole county. The port hopes to employ an additional person to help the event center and coordinate set ‐ up, tear down and maintenance. With the addition of a large scale place to hold events the hope is that this will increase the need for seasonal or permanent employment at local hotels, restaurants, shops and seafood processors. The plan is that this venture will create more dollars coming into the county.

  11. 2016 TLT: Event Tent Site Project Budget • TLT Funds Awarded: $57,450.00 • Port Funds Matching: $23,322.00 • Ongoing Maintenance by Port Staff • Project Total: $80,772.00

  12. 2016 TLT: Event Tent Site • 2016 Spring Summer ‐ Grant Funds Awarded • Early June 2016 – Event Tent Ordered and Site Prep Continued • July 2016 Tent Received and Set Up and Use Began

  13. 2016 TLT: Event Tent Site Local contractors were used in every phase possible in this project; from the placement of gravel, to installation of electric services. Capacity has increased with the port. The addition of the event center will soon warrant another full time position with the port. Revenues and amenities have increased with the addition. This has also given great opportunities to local catering businesses to have another local venue.

  14. 2016 TLT: Event Tent Site The addition of this tent has brought in visitors asking about this giant tent and what they can do with it; as well as events from Portland, as far as Idaho and local events.
