Sources of Funding
In 2018 47.5% ($489,376) of LTA’s total budget
came from fare recovery.
We received a grant from the County of Lanark
$85,000.
We received a community grant from the from the
Town of Smiths Falls of $8,500.
An additional $517,000 received through the
provincial Gas Tax Money.
Value for Money
$SF Community Grant / Number of trips = SF cost per trip $8,500 / 6002 = $1.42 Each trip that LTA provided to a resident of the Town of Smiths was subsidized by the community grant by $1.42.
Gas Tax Money
⚫ In 2018 LTA received $166,000 for
capital (vehicle) purchases and $351,000 for operating costs.
⚫ The grant money that LTA receives
from Lanark County and the Town
- f Smiths Falls qualifies the service
for gas tax money.
Gas Tax Money
⚫ The amount of Gas Tax money
received is dependent upon:
- The population of Lanark County.
- The number of kilometres
travelled.
- The number of passengers carried.
Affordable for All
LTA charges $110 for a return trio to Ottawa.
Private services charge 3 to 4 times as much.
If a client is registered with OW or ODSP the
cost of the trip is directly invoiced to their agency.
Subsidy Available
The cost of this trip to people not with an agency is
subsidized between 98% and 20% dependent on
- income. People with an income of < $12,000 would pay
$2.00. A household income of between $12 - $15,000 would pay between $4 and $12 depending on the destination.
