Association (CUTA)

 In 2018 we provided 16097 trips to 1935 registered

users.

 749 trips required the wheelchair accessible van.

Sources of Funding

 In 2018 47.5% ($489,376) of LTA’s total budget

came from fare recovery.

 We received a grant from the County of Lanark

$85,000.

 We received a community grant from the from the

Town of Smiths Falls of $8,500.

 An additional $517,000 received through the

provincial Gas Tax Money.

Value for Money

$SF Community Grant / Number of trips = SF cost per trip $8,500 / 6002 = $1.42 Each trip that LTA provided to a resident of the Town of Smiths was subsidized by the community grant by $1.42.

Gas Tax Money

⚫ In 2018 LTA received $166,000 for

capital (vehicle) purchases and $351,000 for operating costs.

⚫ The grant money that LTA receives

from Lanark County and the Town

  • f Smiths Falls qualifies the service

for gas tax money.

⚫ The amount of Gas Tax money

received is dependent upon:

  • The population of Lanark County.
  • The number of kilometres

travelled.

  • The number of passengers carried.

Affordable for All

 LTA charges $110 for a return trio to Ottawa.

Private services charge 3 to 4 times as much.

 If a client is registered with OW or ODSP the

cost of the trip is directly invoiced to their agency.

Subsidy Available

 The cost of this trip to people not with an agency is

subsidized between 98% and 20% dependent on

  • income. People with an income of < $12,000 would pay

$2.00. A household income of between $12 - $15,000 would pay between $4 and $12 depending on the destination.

 In 2018 we have subsidized trips in the amount of

$36,000

groups to provide transportation:

3 Service Models

 Individual need, for example a doctor’s appointment.  Agency or organization need. For example, a five-

week therapeutic riding program organized by youth centre.

 Ride the LT - Modified fixed route pilot project in

Lanark Highlands launched in April 2018 and another version in Carleton Place in October 2019.
