THE SHAKING - REVIVAL OR PERISH If Revelation is a book of prophecy, then why do we say the majority of the prophecies are historic? By placing Revelation in history, we reject truth or Christ and repeat the apostasy of 1888. Early Writings p270 “I asked the meaning of the shaking I had seen and was shown that it would be caused by the straight testimony called forth by the counsel of the True Witness to the Laodiceans. This will have its effect upon the heart of the receiver, and will lead him to exalt the standard and pour forth the straight truth. Some will not bear this straight testimony. They will rise up against it, and this is what will cause a shaking among God's people. … Some had been shaken out and left by the way. The careless and indifferent, who did not join with those who prized victory and salvation enough to perseveringly plead and agonize for it, did not obtain it, and they were left behind in darkness, and their places were immediately filled by others taking hold of the truth and coming into the ranks.” The shaking is caused by the straight truth and those who do not accept the straight truth will lose salvation and

• thers will take hold of the truth and take their crowns.

Prophets & Kings p626 "Christians should be preparing for what is soon to break upon the world as an

• verwhelming surprise… The tremendous issues of eternity demand of us something besides an imaginary

religion, a religion of words and forms, where truth is kept in the outer court. God calls for a revival and a reformation." We need a revival and reformation where truth is not in the outer court or world. Testimonies to Ministers p113 "We do not understand the word as we should. The book of Revelation opens with an injunction to us to understand the instruction that it contains. "Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy," God declares, "and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand." When we as a people understand what this book means to us, there will be seen among us a great

• revival. We do not understand fully the lessons that it teaches, notwithstanding the injunction given us to search

and study it." The great revival can only come when we understand the last book of prophecy - Revelation. We are told we do not understand it because we have followed the fable that the book of Revelation is mostly historic. Signs of the Times, Jan 11, 1899 "Revelation is a sealed book, but it is also an open book, recording marvelous events that are to take place in the last days of this earth's history. Its teachings are definite, not mystical and unintelligible, and God would have us understand it." The book of Revelation is not a history book but a book of prophecy with events that are to take place in the

• future. We were taught that Revelation is a history book and the only thing we are waiting for is Jesus to come.

We can only be sealed when we have truth. Manuscript 173, 1902 "Just as soon as the people of God are sealed in their foreheads--it is not any seal or mark that can be seen, but a settling into the truth, both intellectually and spiritually, so they cannot be moved… " We will never have the seal of God whilst we hold historic prophecies. Revelation 17:8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. The ten-horned beast that appeared in history is going to appear again. He will only appear after the bottomless pit is opened; which begs the question - when is it opened? Revelation 9:1-4 And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. 2. And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit,

as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. 3. And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. 4. And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads. When the bottomless pit is opened and the ten-horned beast appears, God has already sealed His people. When comparing Scripture with Scripture, we need two witnesses. So we should see that the ten-horned beast can

• nly appear after the sealing of God's people in the other book of prophecy - the book of Daniel.

Manuscript 59, 1900 “The books of Daniel and the Revelation are one." Revelation 7:1-4 And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree. 2. And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, 3. Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. 4. And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel. The Lord is holding back the four winds until the sealing of the 144,000. Dan 7:2,3 Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea. 3. And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another. Daniel saw the four winds blowing, which occurs after the sealing. Then the four beasts appear and the fourth beast has ten horns. Both Daniel and Revelation show us that the ten-horned beast appears after the sealing and after our probation has closed. What about Revelation chapter 12? Letter 165, August 3, 1903 “In the last days the representation made in the 12th chapter of Revelation will be fulfilled”. Spirit of Prophecy plainly tells us that the events in Revelation chapter 12 will be fulfilled - future. Revelation 12:1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: Jeremiah 6:2 I have likened the daughter of Zion to a comely and delicate woman. Isaiah 62:1 Behold, the LORD hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him. The woman depicted is shown to be in heaven. Scripture tells us that this woman or group of people have been judged as ‘salvation cometh’. Salvation comes to those who have overcome. This woman is wearing a crown. 2Timothy 4:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. A crown is given to royalty and to those that overcome. Twelve stars on the crown represent the twelve tribes

• f spiritual Israel. In history, the twelve tribes of Israel never overcame so this chapter of Revelation can only

apply to a time when the spiritual twelve tribes of Israel have overcome - the 144,000. Revelation 7:4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel. This woman is clothed with the sun.

Malachi 4:2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. This overcoming woman, clothed with Christ's righteousness, is standing on the moon. Psalm 89:37 It shall be established for ever as the moon, and as a faithful witness in heaven. Selah. This pure woman has overcome and is standing on the moon. She is a witness of the power of God in her life and she is depicted as being in heaven, meaning having salvation. Isaiah 61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels. This pure woman is wearing salvation and is likened to a bride. John 3:29 He that hath the bride is the bridegroom…. John the Baptist recognised that Christ was the Bridegroom and His true people the bride. The 144,000 are Christ's bride as they have the seal of God and Christ's righteousness and they are going to be a witness. Revelation 12:2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. Babylonian theories teach Christ is this child and the mother of Christ is Mary. They claim she is in heaven but nothing could be further from the truth since Christ is the Bridegroom of this woman, not her child. Revelation 12:5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne. The bride of Christ brings forth a man-child -- who does this man-child represent? Isaiah 66:7,8 Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child.

• 8. Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day?
• r shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.

Spirit of Prophecy vol.4, p276 “The people of God, symbolized by a holy woman and her children, are greatly in the minority. In the last days only a remnant exists. John speaks of them as those that "keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ." [Revelation 12:17.] This woman, standing on the moon, represents a witness and so the 144,000 are going to be a witness and bring forth a nation in a day just like at Pentecost of old. The man-child is going to rule all nations with a rod of iron. Revelation 2:26,27 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: 27. And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father. The man-child represents those who accept the witness of the bride, the 144,000, and their names go to heaven as ones who have overcome by the blood of the Lamb. Revelation 12:3,4 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. 4. And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. The great red dragon is not in heaven and neither are the 144,000. These are prophetic symbols of the players of the events to take place on this earth.

The symbolism of the tail of the great red dragon drawing a third part of the stars of heaven indicates that Satan will deceive a third part of the ministers in the last days. These are ministers who have not taken up the truth. Jude 1:11-13 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core. 12. These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; 13. Raging waves of the sea, foaming

• ut their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.

The ministers wandered away from the truth or Christ and deceived many. Revelation 12:6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. The 144,000 are going to be like John the Baptist, in the wilderness preaching the truth to the Gentiles and they will preach for 3½ years. Revelation 12:7-12 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, 8. And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. 9. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. 10. And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. 11. And they

• vercame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto

the death. 12. Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and

• f the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a

short time. The great red dragon appears 'in heaven' and the 144,000 are 'in heaven' standing 'on the moon'. Obviously this is symbolic; so the war that takes place is where the woman is. The result of this war is that the saints die in the

• Lord. The devil knows that he has a short time of 3½ years to wage this battle before all is decided.

Revelation 12:13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child. The devil persecutes the woman or 144,000 that brings in the saints and the Gentiles. Revelation 12:14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. The 144,000 are taken into the wilderness, like John the Baptist, to finish their work of warning the Gentiles. Revelation 12:15-17 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. 16. And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth. 17. And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. The dragon is going to incite many people to rise up against the 144,000. But during the latter rain many Gentiles find the truth and keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus that He can save to the uttermost by giving them victory over all sin. The time frame is 3 ½ literal years. Is there another witness? Manuscript 59, 1900 "After this period of time, reaching from 1842 to 1844, there can be no definite tracing of the prophetic time. The longest reckoning reaches to the autumn of 1844."

Prophetic time when a day equalled a year finished in 1844. We are now in literal time when a day equals a day and a year a year. Revelation 13:3, 5 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. 5. And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. The ten-horned beast appears after the 144,000 have been sealed - remember this everlasting truth. The beast then receives a deadly wound to one of its heads. Then the wound is healed and it continues for 42 months. Manuscript 88, 1897 (7BC p 979) “Revelation 13:4-8,10 quoted. This entire chapter is a revelation of what will surely take place.” The entire thirteenth chapter is future. Why do we go against God and place it in history? 42 literal months equals 3 ½ literal years equals 1260 literal days, since prophetic time finished in 1844. Daniel 7:23-26 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces. 24. And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. 25. And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. 26. But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end. This 4th beast has ten horns and it devours the whole earth, treads it down and breaks it in pieces. United we stand divided we fall. The ten-horned beast divides the earth, so it will not rise up against the beast. Three powers are replaced by the little horn, which wears out the saints of the most High by changing times and laws. It has power for 3 ½ years. At the end of the 3 ½ years the little horn is judged and destroyed. Daniel 7:27 And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him. After the judgment and destruction of the little horn at the end of the 3 ½ years, the everlasting kingdom is given to the resurrected saints. Faith I Live By p209 "I beheld," says the prophet Daniel, "till thrones were placed, and one that was ancient of days did sit. . . . Thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened." Dan. 7:9, 10, R.V. Thus was presented to the prophet's vision the great and solemn day when the characters and the lives of men should pass in review before the Judge of all the earth, and to every man should be rendered "according to his works." Revelation 11:1-3 And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. 2. But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months. 3. And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. Letter 158, May 10, 1906 “Let all who would understand the meaning of these things read the 11th chapter of

• Revelation. Read every verse and learn the things that are yet to take place in the cities.

Judgment is going to take place for the worshippers of God but the judgment of the Gentiles will not happen until 42 literal months or 1260 literal days have been completed. God's sealed people are going to use the Old and New Testaments as a witness to the Gentiles of the events that have just transpired. This is the latter rain that we have been praying for but God in His mercy has not sent it as we have not taken up the truth about Revelation and Daniel.
