Project Objectives • Contribute to the creation of an integrated transport system in the Mediterranean • Support Southern Mediterranean Partner Countries implement the regulatory aspects RTAP 2014-2020, on Actions: - Action 8 : Efficient land transport systems; - Action 9: International land transport haulage; - Action 10: Road safety; - Action 11: Urban transport 75 th Session of the Global Forum for Road Traffic Safety, Geneva 19-22 September 2017 3
Sustainable results from Previous Project Phase • Awareness on UN international Agreements and best practices • Familiarization with the work of UNECE, EU, IRU • Opening of the AETR Agreement to some EuroMed countries • Road Maps AETR - ATP - ADR • 20 ADR Trainers Internationally Certified (IRU ADR Instructors) • Accreditation of the Tunisian Training Centre of Borj Centria by IRU • Studies, study tours, analytical work, policy recommendations • Changes in transport legislation in many EuroMed countries • Liaison and joint event and efforts with UN SE on Road Safety • New accessions to UN Agreements expected 75 th Session of the Global Forum for Road Traffic Safety, Geneva 19-22 September 2017 4
