by NTA Srl – Firenze – ITALY The EASY TOE attachment is easily fitted to single cylinder sock knitting machines including:  LONATI  MATEC  SANGIACOMO  ANGE The new EASY TOE sewing attachment is suitable now for 4” - 3 ¾” – gauge 18 – 24 - 36 and will be suitable for 3,5” and 5” within end 2010. Needles counts from 72 needles to 200 needles. The attachment can be fitted on both open toe and closed toe machines available in the market. THE FOUR COMPONENTS OF THE EASY TOE AUTOMATIC SOCKS SEAMING ATTACHMENT ARE:  Nr.1 movable internal transporter  Nr.1 movable external transporter  Nr.1 double needle seaming head with trimmer  Nr.1 turning device which reverses the socks after seaming and transports the turned sock either to the machine’s Solis box or to an overhead transport system.  All components are preassembled.

HOW THE EASY TOE ATTCHMENT WORKS

INTERNAL TRANSPORTER (IT) The IT is a 3” long slotted cylinder which is attached to the top of the machine’s take down tube. The IT has the same number of the transfer jacks as the machine’s dial bits. The top portion of the IT folds out and back (like a flower) and transfers the sock after the toe is knitted off of the machine’s dial bit and onto the transfer jacks. Now the sock is positioned on the outside top of the take down tube After the transfer of the sock to the IT the take down tube goes down through the cylinder , to the bottom of the machine, and exits the machine to transfer the sock to the external transporter (ET). The IT then returns inside the machine to retrieve the next sock. This transfer from the IT to the ET takes about 3-4 seconds. The ET is a short cylinder which folds is half and has the same number of transfer jacks as the number of dial needles in the machine. The ET folds in half and it’s transfer jacks hold all of the toe portion of the sock together. The ET rotates in front of the double needles seamer mounted on the side of the

• machine. After seaming the trimmer cuts the tail. The seamer is only as wide as the

crank handle. A suction tube which reverses the sock after the seaming is connected to the top of the

• ET. After the toe is seamed and the tail is cut the ET releases the sock to the turning
• device. The turning device reverses the sock and transport it to either the Solis box on

the side of the machine or to an overhead transport system. The EASY TOE attachment needs only one free software function on your current

• machine. Your current programs remain exactly as is until the end of the toe. The EASY

TOE attachment then adds 3-4 courses of lycra to the end of the toe to provide a runoff for seamer. The toe can be as short as you want as there is not requirement either for 8 course clip for Complett or Rosso ot 16 courses of additional fabric as on current flip dial closed toe machine.

EASY TOE ATTACHMENT MAIN ADVANTAGES: With OPEN TOE machine:

• 1. Very straight, soft, traditional seam quality;
• 2. Eliminates all TST personnel (turning, sewing, turning), equipments, floor space,

and all indirect costs;

• 3. Power and compressed air costs are reduced as there is not need to turn sew

turn equipment;

• 4. With the EASY TOE attachment the machine knits the socks in the traditional way

starting from the welt;

• 5. Sock’s style chain program remain unchanged;
• 6. Reciprocated toe can be as short as needed;
• 7. With Easy Toe attachment tube and pouch heel socks can be made as usual;
• 8. Easy Toe attachment can be easily disengaged for producing open toe socks;
• 9. The key point is that the EASY TOE Attachment can be easily removed and re-fit

another machine;
