ONLINE CURRICULUM
Over the past three years we have worked to create an online curriculum and spec site. This allows students and parents to access our scope and sequence and get all materials needed for assignments.
Showcases our students’ professional level of work. Our site is used not only to showcase student work, but also helps us recruit new students and clients.

initiatives started in Graphic Arts
S U M M E R
Graphic Arts began its summer design program four years ago. Every year the program grows and fills up faster. We have seen almost forty students during the past four years. Twelve of these students are now at Cape Cod Tech. 2016 is the first year for a school wide summer program.
C A M P S
Yes CCT has always had a social media presence. However, graphics was the first shop to have its
and Instagram accounts. The school, seeing the importance of this presence now has recommended that each program have a presence in social media.
S O C I A L M E D I A
Graphic arts was sending
in 2009 with direct mail, posters, and letters going directly to teachers and businesses in our district. Cape Cod Tech now has scheduled mailings that follow a full range of radio and television ads.
P R O M O T E
“I visit the classrooms and students in most of the high schools throughout Massachusetts; I can easily say that the Graphics department at CCT is one of the best.”

“I feel that the Graphic Arts class is especially important today more so than it's ever been. As an art school we make it our business to know what the market is like. A 2013 study shows there were 25 million careers in design/art, and those numbers are projected to go up by 2020.”

Continuing to produce students who are of the highest quality and desired by local colleges
“The Graphic Arts program at CCT is the only area at the school that is a primarily creativity based program.”
Articulation Agreements:
Bristol Community College Cape Cod Community College Center For Digital Arts New England Institute of Technology
Articulation agreements allow our students to get college credit for what they do in high school. These credits not only save students money, but also give them a head start on their classes so they can graduate earlier. This allows them to begin working sooner rather than later with less debt.
ONLINE EDUCATION
We see a day when a student who is at Barnstable, DY, Monomoy, etc. could be taking Graphic Arts at Cape Cod Tech with a program
The technology allows for this to be easily
using various, widespread and free video conference technology This would mean that CCT’s enrollment could soar past 650 without adding any extra stress to the physical space.
ONLINE PRINTING
The idea of setting up an online print shop for local towns, schools, and business partners would allow them to order, design, and print. Students would be in charge of order fulfillment, customer service, and machine maintenance. This would not only save our sending districts money, it would provide income to our shop and school.
FINE ARTS
It is important that a graphic designer has an understanding of all the elements of art and
incorporate more of the fine arts now being
Wrapping fine arts into the program, and being closer in the new building would allow graphics students to be more rounded in their artistic skills.
INTERNSHIP
We would like to set up a program very similar to what many colleges have today. Students would be required to complete a designated number of hours at an internship or co-op. These hours could be completed during the school year/day - similar to what students do when on co-op. Or hours could be completed on their own time with proper documentation.
“According to the Huffington Post, graphic design is among the top 10 art jobs in highest demand in the future. Students who study graphic arts have the potential to become gainfully employed in the fields of electronic media, television graphics, website design, advertisement, and print.”
