2 0 1 0 task force strategy

  • In 2009 meetings, participants expressed the desire

to move beyond the traditional meeting format of y g merely exchanging best practices amongst each

  • ther to being more integrated into other task forces

and work jointly with them

  • i.e., become more outward focused instead of

inward focused

  • Based on this input, an effort was made in 2010 to

re-position the task force as a ‘partner’ to other task forces, to support their communications issues , pp

  • this was not communicated widely, but selectively

with a couple of groups, as a test

Other changes to task force

  • TF-CPR discussed taking more steps to evolve the task
  • force. These include:

1. TF-CPR to create ‘special interest groups’ { mini-task force segments} focused on specific areas that compliment other task forces compliment other task forces

  • for example: TF-CPR multimedia, TF-CPR middleware, TF-CPR

security

  • these special interest groups would meet in parallel streams for

a part of each TF-CPR task force meeting and possibly at complimentary technical task force

  • this would help align their NREN comms/ PR priorities with the

activities that they work on in the task force y

2. Invite more outside speakers from universities or partner institutions to speak/ brainstorm at the task force meeting
