Assessment 3: Poster presentation Word limit: 700 (+/- 10%) with diagrams added and labelled. Weighting: 25% Due date: 9am AEST Monday 14 September (Week 10) Assessment overview This assessment task requires you to submit an academic poster about the forensic application of a modern analytical technique. A poster is a visual display and consists of both diagrams and text; it brings order to a section of information and communicates in a way that is unique to plain text. Assessment details You are to prepare a poster that describes one of the modern analytical techniques listed below:  UV-Visible Spectroscopy.  Infrared Spectroscopy.  Mass Spectroscopy.  High Performance Liquid Chromatography.  Gas Chromatography. Your poster must include: a) an introduction to the technique b) the history of the technique c) a description of how the technique works d) a case study in which the technique has been successfully used e) an account of the limitations of the technique. It should also be correctly referenced and titled. Academic posters while being more visual than a set of text still must adhere to a certain level of structure and rigour in the content and choice of language. We advise that you follow the structure listed above (a-e) when constructing your poster. There are a number of different tools that you might choose to produce your academic poster and they can be found on the how-to guide in the assessment 3 section of Blackboard.
