Financial Description

slide-11
SLIDE 11

Fund destination

❖ The project essentially funds trips longer than a month

from a EU country to a non-EU country. In some case (in our project for South Africa and Argentina) also vice versa.

❖ There is also some fund for organising networking

events (schools, conferences, workshops).

slide-12

Reimbursement per month

Minimum reimbursement allowed by the EU Fixed additional amount taken from the funds for networking Overheads: some may be taken by your university, the rest can be given to the seconded researcher

slide-15
SLIDE 15

Financial reporting

❖ Each European university will report on their

secondments on the EU website.

❖ Reporting amounts to filling start and end dates of

each secondment; all the rest is calculated accordingly.

❖ The report will probably not match the actual

expenses!! This is not a problem.

Secondments

slide-26
SLIDE 26

What's a secondment

❖ A secondment is a span of time in which a researcher is

hosted by another university.

❖ The seconded staff must receive her/his salary from the

sending beneficiary at the time of secondment and be linked to the institution since at least 6 months.

❖ A EU researcher can only be seconded in a non-

European country or vice versa.

slide-27
SLIDE 27

What's a secondment

❖ The span of time must be at least one month, but can be

  • split. However, at the end of the project the amount of

time spent at each institution must be at least one month.

❖ Any amount of time longer than one month is allowed

i.e., two visits at the same institution of 20 days each form a perfectly fine secondment.

slide-28
SLIDE 28

What to do in case of secondment

❖ 9-12 months in advance: contact

your host.

❖ 3-4 months in advance: inform Sara

  • f your intentions.

❖ 1-3 months in advance: fill in the

"leaving" form on the website.

❖ 0-1 month later: fill in the "coming

back" form on the website.

slide-29
SLIDE 29

What to do in case of secondment

❖ The exact amount of your

reimbursement will be calculated by Sara. But she needs to know the amount of overhead taken by your university.

❖ If you work for a EU university

your reimbursement will be paid by your university, by the hosting university otherwise.
