Glossary: Clarify the term “audiologist” for consistency with professional

  • responsibilities. Replace “deafness” and “hearing impairment” with “deaf
  • r hard of hearing.” Remove “modification” to be consistent with use of

terms “accommodation” and “adaptation.” Chapter 4: Evaluation and Eligibility: Replace “deafness” and “hearing impairment” with “deaf or hard of hearing.” Provide clarification of the Language Impairment category if a student does not qualify under the criteria for Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Chapter 9: Private School Students: Remove terminology “or dual enrollment” to align with Idaho Code 33‐203 and other areas of the manual. Chapter 10: Improving Results: Change “Computer Based Route to Teacher Certification” to “Non‐Traditional Route to Certification” to align with teacher certification standards. Remove reference to alternative route preparation program for para‐educators that is no longer available.

  • The State of Idaho received the FFY 2017‐18 Grant Award Notices in

early July

  • LEAs IDEA Part B allocation amounts have not changed
  • LEAs 619/preschool allocation amounts have changed due to

reallocation of funds to charter schools. The new amounts will be posted on the SDE website and updated in the IDEA Part B & Preschool Application

  • The application is currently open. The due date is October 13th, 2017
  • Business Managers Webinar was held on Aug 3, 2017. The recording is

a great resource and available on the ITC website.

  • IDEA Part B & Preschool Application instruction manual, including FY

2017‐18 updates, has been posted in our website.

  • LEAs grant applications will be reviewed as submitted. Please don’t

wait until the last minute to get started!
