  22. ➢ Expand capacity Mossler Grant: Louise Jett on Marketing and Communications Beginning July 1, 2019 Help new (and current) Societies create effective online presences by: ● Setting up and managing websites and social media accounts ● Writing press releases and designing printed materials to post on social media and send out weekly email newsletters ● Developing a new society start up kit that includes basic resources, training materials ● and information needed by those pursuing the establishment of a new Ethical Society. ● Marketing the American Ethical Union in an effort to recruit new membership from ● individuals and organizations. ● Developing a communications campaign and reinforcing the benefits of membership through campaigns that include spotlights, testimonials, news articles and creative messaging

  23. ➢ Expand capacity Jone Johnson Lewis: Lay Leadership Skills Project Beginning July 1, 2019 Help new (and current) Societies develop effective organizational management skills by: Developing publications for board members and key volunteers (committee chairs, etc.) regarding governance principles and organizational development to be distributed in a number of smaller units. (Think: how to chair a committee, what board members need to know about Society governance, options for running effective pledge campaigns, etc.) Each would be available online to members of the AEU in a PDF format that could be printed locally or read online. Developed along the lines of the “for Dummies” format with text plus pull-out boxes for tips and definitions and quick background/context points, they would be more for reading than for quick reference, though useful for quick reference as well. They would be made available via the AEU’s Google Drive feature to individuals who are members of Ethical Societies and developing circles. (And use of the AEU cloud to find these would also promote use of other AEU publications.)
