Principals’ Leadership Network October 21, 2015 Fall 2015 Assessment Update • ETS and Pearson share testing responsibilities • Test Operations Management System (TOMS) “functional” • December EOC precode data file upload (if done) must be completed by October 16 • ETS has loaded previous “failers” to TOMS • All EOC tests will be paper in December Federal Accountability Update Priority and Focus Schools • Priority – 5% of Title I schools (all students) • Focus – 10% of Title I schools (all groups) • 3 Year List – 2015-16 is year 3 • Requirements for exit have not been announced • New list created based on 2015-16 test data State Accountability Update PBMAS Update • Confidential reports in TEASE Accountability Application on Aug. 6 • Districts should be working on plans addressing any area with a 2 or higher performance level • Staging information released 10/5 • Interventions based on staging not released until later this month • Trainings – Oct. 21, Oct. 27 (FULL) Region 4 Education Service Center Accountability and Leadership Solutions Houston, TX 2

Principals’ Leadership Network October 21, 2015 Fall 2015  FAFSA News and Enhancements - Upcoming Changes on the 2017–18 FAFSA  Starting with the 2017–18 FAFSA, the application will be available earlier and will request older income information.  The 2017–18 FAFSA will be available for applicants to fill out beginning on Oct. 1, 2016. This is three months earlier than the traditional FAFSA launch date of January 1. The October launch date will continue in subsequent years.  The 2017–18 FAFSA will request information from applicants' 2015 tax returns. For instance, the 2016–17 FAFSA will require 2015 tax information, which many applicants will not have available in time for school or state deadlines that fall early in 2016.  Information for students is available at StudentAid.gov/fafsa-changes.  FAFSA News and Enhancements - Draft 2016–17 FAFSA Available for Comment  Federal Student Aid has released the draft 2016–17 FAFSA, Student Aid Report (SAR), and SAR Acknowledgement for public comment.  Changes for 2016–17 include the following:  On the paper FAFSA, the pages have been reordered so that the instructions appear in a single area of the document.  The student's list of schools will continue to be shared with the student's state agency but not with the colleges.  FAFSA and IRS Outreach  The office of Federal Student Aid has partnered with the IRS to inform citizens of services available, including free help with tax filing through the VITA program.
