SMART MIRROR AMITY INSTITUTE OF TELECOM ENGINEERING AND MANAGEMENT

WHAT IS SMART MIRROR  A innovative framework used to convert a normal utility mirror into a smart interactive device.  Appear as normal mirror until it is activated.  Activation of smart mirror, convert a section of normal mirror into touch interactive display.  Has its own Graphical User Interface (GUI), that creates a visual of UI display on mirror surface.  Has full internet connectivity using Wi-Fi.

WHY SMART MIRROR As this framework integrates “Touch Interactive Display” in the mirror which looks like a conventional mirror when switched off, this can be used for numerous applications like:  Replacement of normal looking mirror at home.  Can be used for displaying advertisements at Shopping Malls and can be used as Brand Store guide in a Shopping Mall.  Can be used to replace mirrors of upcoming Smart Cars, which can display useful information on car mirrors and user can also interact with it.

PROTOTYPE FEATURES: ➢ Integrated applications like Internet Browser, WhatsApp, Gmail, Event Reminder and Calendar. ➢ Touch interactive display. ➢ Wireless connectivity with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

HARDWARE & SOFTWARE  Raspberry Pi as board computer base.  Touch Display module and 7-inch LCD display.  A touch sensitive 1-way reflective film  Raspbian by Debian is used as Operating System.  Modified configuration files to make it compatible with third party touch display device.  Integrated Virtual Keyboard, as Raspbian does not support native Virtual Keyboard.
