  2. What is Title 1? Title 1 is the largest Federal Assistance Program to ensure that every student gets a fair, equal and high-quality education • provides federal funding to schools to help students who are low achieving or at most risk of falling behind. • Title I is allocated to schools based on the percentage of student receiving free/reduced lunch. • Schools with a percentage of at least 40% are eligible for a schoolwide program. “Each school served under Title I, Part A must convene an annual meeting, at a time convenient for parents to inform them of their school’s participation in Title I, Part A programs, and to explain the Title I, Part A requirements and right of parents to be involved in those programs.”
