SAINT LUCIA SECOND NBSAP: The new vision is that: Biodiversity management is an integral part of the overall framework of environmental management, for ensuring sustainable social, cultural and economic development in Saint Lucia; and that there is collective responsibility for, and sharing in the benefits derived from the conservation and sustainable use of biological resources”.

Hence, the goal for 2008 – 2018 is that : “Conservation and sustainable practices for use of biological diversity in Saint Lucia are effectively integrated into national development at all levels”. The expected results are categorized under seven (7) major areas with their respective targets, namely:
