What is Mental Health?

Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood.

What use is a S tructuralist Approach to Mental Health?

If one day you wake up and you’ re depressed, things aren’ t going well

Take account of your life

 45 years old  Divorced  It’s easier to understand your problem, to break it apart and analyze it effectively  Realize that these are shared problems  It’ ll be easier to detach your problems from your worth as an individual, it’ ll be

less personal “ this happens to everyone” , less isolating

 It’ ll be easier to understand what you can do about them  Being able to break apart a complex situation into coherent parts makes it easier

to apply tools
