take a week, months, few months or the last day before the Industrial Training starts. So, be patient!

your Industrial Coordinator or might respond directly to you through email

- Students are NOT ALLOWED to accept more than one
training place at a time.
are NOT ALLOWED to change the internship company after the acceptance letter of placement has been sent to the respective industry.
- Once placement is offered by the industries, students
are required to response to the offer within the stipulated period, or as soon as possible.
- Students are NOT ALLOWED to ask potential
companies about allowances. Upon the confirmation of the placement, some regulations need to be followed…

Industrial Training Coordinator (InTeam) will update the response (accepted or rejected) in the system.
- 1. You can check the update through the system.
- 2. If your application to one of the applied companies is
accepted, you can click “Accept” button and print out the “Acceptance Letter” if you want to do the internship at that company.
- 3. The acceptance letter should be submitted to the
accepted company.

When the company reply…
4. If you want to wait for the respond from other companies, please do not click the “Accept” button yet. 5. Wait until several companies or your ‘targeted’ company respond (accept your application) then you can choose the company to accept for internship. 6. For the rejected company, you need to print out the rejection letter and submit to that company.

Students are required to bring the following documents to the Host Company:
- The logbook -Please download from the system and bind.
- The logbook is used to record all the activities/tasks that
have been done during internship period signed by industrial supervisor.
- You have to send the logbook back to industrial training
coordinator by hand or via mail/courier service soon after completing the internship.

1. In one week after reporting for the internship at the company, you need to submit a verification form to CIGC 2. The verification form already attached in the logbook

In three or four weeks after reporting...
1. In three or four weeks after reporting for the internship at the company, you may contact industrial coordinator if the task or duty given to you is not suitable for a bachelor degree student, such as doing an operator or general worker job. 2. Sometimes, it is good to do the low level job for the first two or three weeks prior doing the high level task or duty to get a whole idea or experience of the job in industry. 3. However, if this keeps continuing after one month or two months, there might be a possibility an intern has been exploited as a cheap labour. 4. Prior calling the industrial coordinator, you may ask politely the host company supervisor to assign the suitable task or duty related to your academic background or level. 5. The worst case is you may need to change to a new company so act fast and do not keep silent.

SLIDE 30 Guidelines For Industrial Training Logbook Writing
Items to be reported in the Log Book: 1.Works carried out by the student (Work and duties that are carried out personally should be detailed out from the start to the end. All explanations and reporting are best supplemented by sketches of diagrams, pictures or calculations.) 2.Works that are observed (The organization usually does not allow students to carry out dangerous and highly specialized job. In these situations, students are allowed to observe and note down in details every step that is taken in carrying out the job by the co-worker or authorized personnel. Learning through observation is also an essential part of the training.) 3.Work/Duties that are heard (In established organizations, some of the settings of important equipments that are the backbone of the company’s
- peration are too critical to be risked for demonstration purposes. Thus, it is
also important for the student to learn and report about duties and operations
- f certain equipments/systems through listening.)

suggestions on how the task may be improved

SLIDE 33 Pre-InTra: CONCLUSION
- Register the course (Industrial Training) within the stipulated
registration period.
- Attend InTra Leadership Workshop.
- Attend any industrial training briefing at the specified time and
date as being done now.
- Apply for placement according to the regulations determined.
- Accept only ONE offer during Industrial Training Placement.
- Not to change the accepted internship offer without the
consent of the School or Faculty Coordinators/CIGC.
- Not to falsify any documents that is being submitted to the Host
Company, School or Faculty and/or CIGC.
SLIDE 34 During InTra
- Obey all University and Host Company’s Rules and Regulations.
- Report for duty at the Host Company at the specified date and
time.
- Complete the Industrial Training at the specific Host Company
until the completion date. Any applications and appeals for shortening the duration of training will not be entertained.
- Not to change the Host Company without any written permission
from the Director of CIGC and respective School or Faculty Dean.
- Fill-up and submit all related forms and documents within the
stipulated submission period without forgery.
- Keep the organizational secrecy with care.
- Not to take any leave of absence without prior approval from
Host Company or University or both.

Student Monitoring by a Video Presentation (if there is no visiting from lecturer (Sabah/Sarawak/others)
Students are required to prepare a short video presentation (duration about 2-5 minutes) regarding the internship activities. Please share the link of the presentation and upload your video permission form into the intra system on the menu upload > Video Permission Form & Video Link

- Submit the following documents upon completion of
InTra at stipulated time and date: 1) Log book (including all the InTra forms) 2) Industrial training report – submit softcopy online through intra system (OSI) 3) Host Company acknowledgement form 4) Host Company survey forms
- Submission of items (1) and (2) must be ‘genuine’
without any falsification and forgery

Post-InTra
Students who have completed the Industrial Training course successfully, without any disciplinary problems will pass the course. However, the official results for the training will be issued after the endorsement made at School or Faculty and University levels.
SLIDE 38 Discipline & Conduct
Please show high level of discipline and conduct worthy of university student within/away from Host Company/organization. Disciplinary actions:
1.
Official warning letter OR
2.
Cancellation of InTra registration OR
3.
Mark deduction not more than 50% OR
4.
Fail and liable to repeat the InTra programme in next session OR
5.
Other decision(s) decided by the university
