  • The Drager 5000, leading to greater detections of drug driving
  • Introduction of the Drager 7510 (upgraded instruments)
  • Clancy Amendment ( Roads Traffic Amendment Act 2018)

  • It should be noted that we are noticing a sharp decrease in the number of people detected for DWI who are

just over the limit and qualify for fixed charge notice.

  • Year-to-date arrests have been in excess of those for the corresponding period in 2017 and 2018. August saw

the highest number of monthly arrests so far this year but September saw the lowest figures since February

  • Figures from the Medical Bureau of Road Safety state that Blood and Urine samples have increased by 40%

in 2019 over 2018
