Interdisciplinary online journal Open to all undergraduate students at Surrey Publishes two issues per year (Spring and Autumn) Accepts a variety of submissions Peer reviewed by postgraduate researchers (PGRs) Editorial team consists of Surrey staff and PGRs Hosted using OJS (Open Journal Systems) for management and publishing

Why did we set up an undergraduate journal?
To showcase quality work produced by Surrey undergraduates To support skills development of UG student contributors and PGR reviewers

Why did we set up an undergraduate journal?
To support UG students in developing a variety of skills such as writing for an academic audience, critical thinking, organisation and time management To stimulate UG students’ interest in research and academic publishing, potentially helping to develop their motivation for postgraduate study To promote the role of students as producers or co-producers of knowledge To help make students’ university study experience more meaningful and fulfilling To give students an opportunity to share their work with the wider audience To enhance students’ motivation to work to the best of their academic ability To give other students a chance to see examples of good academic work produced by peers

Being able to publish the independent research I undertook whilst on my placement year has been an invaluable experience, as it has given me insight into the processes involved in becoming a published author within a research journal. Having a digital link to my published article is also a great addition to my CV, as it showcases what I have been able to achieve whilst at Surrey University. SURJ author
