Howard County Public School System The Fierce Urgency of NOW: Educating Every Student through the Lens of Equity “Work Hard And Be Kind.” Reorganization Guiding Tenets  To be mission critical by supporting schools through the lens of equity.  To utilize gap analysis data to ensure major functions of the organization are delivered with full fidelity.  To be more focused on supporting schools and communities.  To be more responsive to parents/guardians.  To create synchronous communication patterns that avoid duplicity of effort.  To be more efficient and effective with our resources.  To enhance transparency.  To avoid mission creep.  To align talent to task — form to function.  To be completed in a cost-neutral fashion by eliminating specific jobs, reclassifying positions, and redistributing work. When complete, the reorganization will honor the expectations and goals of the Board of Education with an eye towards promoting equity, improving efficiencies, and ensuring academic excellence for ALL Howard County Public School System students.
