Key insights

With automation, there is an improvement in the timely identification of patients with

  • pioid use disorder (OUD).

Our patients are suspicious

  • f clinical settings but trust

peers. The use of buprenorphine and involvement of Certified Recovery Specialists (CRS)s enhances ED flow. All patients with OUD—not just those seeking treatment—should be engaged. Provider training matters, but social barriers matter more.
