  • Mr. Valdes has offered Alvin Junior High support both,

financially and educationally.

  • He generously supported Alvin Junior High during the

Turtle drive, and has sponsored 50 turtles for Alvin Junior High students every year.

his insight for their campus improvement plan. He has also served as Alvin Junior High community partner representative on the District Education Improvement Committee.

  • Mr. Knauth was instrumental in facilitating our very well

received Duke Family Math Night @ H.E.B. Plus in Pearland earlier this year.

  • In addition to providing their facility, H.E.B. Plus also

generously donated drinks, snacks and prizes for the event. Additionally, they donate snacks and drinks for the winning grade level for our annual plastic bag recycling contest held each April.

Angie Henley

  • Mrs. Henley has been an incredible volunteer and supporter for Fairview Jr.
  • She serves on Fairview JH Action Team for Partnerships and has assisted

with many of their community outreach events such as their chili cookoff.

  • She led FJH choir's Bundt cake fundraiser, which was a huge undertaking,

while the choir director was out on maternity leave.

  • She serves Fairview Jr. High at least once a week in the library and makes

copies and laminates for teachers. She is always willing to step in and help and we are lucky to have her as well as serve her children at Fairview Jr. High.

  • Mr. Saladino is being recognized for his generosity and the continued support

he gives to the students and staff of Fairview Junior High.

  • Mr. Saladino has served on the District Executive Improvement Council as a

parent and community representative as well as catered several free meals for Fairview Junior High staff. He has supported Fairview Junior High Career Day by being a favorite presenter for the past two years, (giving each student he speaks to a gift certificate to Joe's). Mark Twain Elementary Watch D.O.G.S. program, he met with the PTO and set out to raise funds to begin the implementation

  • f the program. His enthusiasm and organization was

instrumental to bring dads into the program kick-off.

  • He helped recruit over 30 dads to volunteer their time at Mark

Twain Elementary to show their children the importance of

  • education. The Watch D.O.G.S program would not have gained

the support of the faculty and parents without Mr. Beveridge's commitment.

capacities at Mary Marek Elementary. She has served as PTO

Marek’s library. Library staff can count on her when they need help. Marek Elementary is thankful for the time she gives to their school.

"buddy lunch' with students. During “Buddy Lunch”, the students come in and eat lunch, play games, and have a short presentation.

  • Both of these ladies put countless hours into starting up

Pomona's Pirate PTO. They gathered data, motivated parents and staff members, recruited officers, raised funds, completed IRS paperwork to become a non-profit

new clubs at Pomona, and put their own money into starting it.

  • They did all this without complaining. They gave selflessly
  • f their time and money to make Pomona Pirate’s PTO a

huge success.

  • Mr. Carrillo is a Watch D.O.G.S. at Rodeo Palms JH who requested to

spend his time volunteering in the ESL classroom because he was an ESL student when he was in school. He has a heart for our students because he remembers when he was a middle school student.

  • He has come in on several occasions to speak to the students about the

fact that success in life can start right now in middle school.

  • His main goal is to have the students keep their future goals in their

view, so that the goals can drive their day to day decisions to make the right choice in all things. We applaud and appreciate his efforts in bringing the community and success stories to share within the walls of Rodeo Palms Junior High.

Kindergarten classroom on any day, you just might see Missy Evans in the midst of students as she helps with both loving hands and a caring heart.

  • Ms. Evans frequently devotes her time to assist Stevenson’s

young learners. If there is a special day, event, project or activity happening, you can count on Ms. Evans to be working besides teachers to make sure that the students and parents are well-supported and enjoying every learning experience.

$25,000 grant. This grant was used to purchase listening stations, iPads, books for literacy instruction and other items that engage learners. We extend our deepest gratitude to Phillips 66 for their generosity and support of our Stevenson Primary students.

  • Mrs. Melodi Meshek has become a priceless asset to Walt Disney

Elementary these past few years.

  • She is at Walt Disney almost every week helping in the library and with

the robotics teams.

  • Walt Disney will miss her greatly when she moves next year with her

daughter to junior high. Her consistency and amazing work ethic are truly one of a kind, and Walt Disney is proud to recognize her today for all of the invaluable help she has provided to their students and staff.

she has worked countless hours volunteering her time and resources for Wilder Elementary students and staff.

Frederick Jefferson

  • Alvin ISD Federal & Special Programs would like to recognize Mr. Jefferson for

working tirelessly in the community and schools to advocate for individuals with disabilities.

  • He stepped up during Hurricane Harvey to help families with special needs

children get the resources needed for their specific road to recovery.

  • He heads up the Man II Man support group for fathers of children with special
  • needs. He does advocacy at the state legislative level, has created a resource

brochure for families moving into our area, serves on the board of Mosaic in Action and does many other things in partnership with the school and community to improve services to children and adults with disabilities.
