Results of the RFP: Proposal 1: City of Hanahan with three potential sites Two Proposals Received Proposal 2: Private Owner with one potential site

Proposal 1: Site 1 – TMS #2590000117 Site 2 – TMS #2590000104 Site 3 – TMS #2530000001

 Site #1 – Not sufficient acreage or Evaluation correct geometry for a school. Site is Comment for 11 acres upland and the site is long Proposal 1: and narrow. Not enough room for Site #1 – Not building, parent loop with sufficient Viable. stacking, bus loop, playgrounds, detention, sewer lift station, etc. Not enough frontage for two lanes and not enough room for single entry with a split parent and bus drive.

 Site #2 – 17 acres upland, awkward Evaluation geometry, frontage lacking but Comments for potential for single entry with split Proposal 1: bus and parent drive – this site could Site #2 – has be viable but additional potential, investigation need. investigate further

 Site #3 – property is not owned by Evaluation proposer. If ownership is transferred Comments for to the City of Hanahan, then BCSD Proposal 1: should pursue this option further in Site #3 – property conjunction with other property. is not owned by proposer; not viable at this time.

Proposal 2: TMS #2590000044

 9-10 acres – Geometry is long and Evaluation narrow. Only current access is from Comment for Henry Brown Blvd. Not enough Proposal 2: not frontage for two lanes and not viable by itself but enough room for single entry with a in combination with split parent and bus drive. Not proposal 1, Site #2 enough room for building, parent has potential, loop with sufficient stacking, bus investigate further loop, playgrounds, detention, sewer lift station, etc.

 Both sites would require sewer lift Other stations.  Both sites have access concerns. Considerations:  Both sites have awkward geometry  Both sites would require Williams Lane improvements.  There are no perfect sites.  The combination of the proposals give more flexibility for incorporating the school design elements and have the greatest potential for success.

Selection Committee Recommendation: The combination of proposal 1, Site #2 and proposal 2 would make the best school site for BCSD. Pursue contracts with both owners. Start due diligence on both properties as soon as possible in order to potentially open the school in August 2016.
