Proposed national activities under CEPII of component 1

 Support multi-sector/ area-based planning (1.1): capacity

building on area based planning

 Support sector planning (1.1): capacity building on

integrated energy planning,

 Strengthening country environmental safeguard systems

(1.2): Overall assessment on environmental impacts due to existing hydropower plants activities in Central and Highland region of Vietnam, addressing out measurement for environmental management and protection.

 Strengthen subregional and national environmental

monitoring Database (1.3): EOC and environmental monitoring (NSU)

Proposed Regional activities

 Conduct economic assessment of natural capital and

valuation of ecosystem services (GMS 1.1),

 Support multi-sector/ area-based planning (GMS 1.1):

strengthening multi-sector planning process in the GMS,

 Establish a GMS Environmental Information System

(GMS 1.3): EOC website, and

 Strengthen subregional and national environmental

monitoring Database (GMS 1.3): Development of regional forest cover maps and training of universities in the GMS.
