OUR MISSION ü Our mission is to guide adults with Down syndrome to pursue higher education by encouraging autonomy, perseverance and a sense of security. ü We envision a community that will leave any stereotypes towards adults with Down syndrome at the door and embrace the opportunity for them to get involved in university-level experiences.

CHANGING ATTITUDES AND EXPECTATIONS 1) Listening to the person’s stated perceptions. 2) Acknowledging the individual’s own choices by facilitating the process of exploration. 3) Considering how activities, experiences and behaviours are linked together. 4) Considering the lifespan implications of any behavior or actions.

CHANGING ATTITUDES AND EXPECTATIONS 5) Taking into account how situations or actions may promote positive self-image. 6) Recognizing that adults with Down syndrome are individuals with widely varying needs, interests and abilities. 7) Recognizing that the needs, interests and abilities of specific individuals can vary over quite short time intervals.
