and preparing position paper, with step-by-step guide.

  • The importance of (i) having and implementing PPC, and

(ii) preparing and submitting position paper.

  • How to overcome challenges during the PPC process and

during the preparation of position paper.

Benefits, Outcomes and Impacts Gained:

  • Significant knowledge on the PPC in Canada: its history,

reformation, implementation, active participants, benefits.

  • Significant knowledge on how to prepare position paper:

how to do the right research, how to write in a structured and concise way, how to submit/communicate the content.

  • The internship report on PPC was submitted to Vice

President of Indonesia, the MOT, and KADIN/APINDO members.

Benefits, Outcomes and Impacts Gained:

  • As private sector is not allowed at the negotiation table,

having trade negotiation workshops and simulation gave us better understanding.

  • In particular, we felt significant improvement was gained

during the simulation.

  • The workshops and simulation encourage us to learn

more on trade negotiations, to follow trade news, and to provide our best contribution to the government.

  • Information and materials shared to us have improved our skill and

knowledge, and triggered us to keep learning and keep ourselves updated.

  • Learning from the best practices, we felt that our strategies/policies

making and productivity have increased. We have also adopted scientific-based approach to contemporary issues (such as, US-China trade war) and help private sector to identify opportunities.

  • The capacity building experiences have also helped us in conducting

PPC with KADIN/APINDO members and the MOT, as well as establishing stronger and closer relation with government officials participating in the workshops.
