Highlights • The percentage of people without health insurance coverage for the entire calendar year was 8.5 percent, or 27.5 million people. • Between 2017 and 2018, the uninsured rate increased 0.5 percentage points, and the number of uninsured increased by 1.9 million people. • The uninsured rate decreased in 3 states and increased in 8 states between 2017 and 2018 .
