Reporting and Dismissal Time Reporting time: 12.20 p.m. 1.20 p.m. (Thursdays only) Dismissal Time: 6.00 p.m. • For the safety of the child, please do not send your child to school too early • Please pick your child up at 6 p.m. punctually • Please inform the school if you are unable to pick your child up at the stated dismissal time

  4. Reporting Time • Pupils are to be in the hall by 12.15 p.m. every day • Pupils have to read a book while waiting for assembly to start

  5. Latecoming • Afternoon assembly will start at 12.20 p.m. • Pupils who come after 12.20 p.m. are considered late *Frequent latecomers will be referred to the school’s counsellor

  6. Absence from School • Contact the school if child is absent from school or unable to attend any activity such as supplementary or remedial • Call the General Office. (Tel : 67600178) • Submit the medical certificate/ parent’s letter of excuse to the teacher when child returns

  7. Absence from Formal Assessments • There is no make-up paper for all subjects • Submit the medical certificate to the teacher when child returns – Children’s well-being comes first

  10. CIRA Reward Programme CIRA reward programme aims to encourage pupils to exhibit the school value and they are rewarded with CIRA stamps for doing so

CIRA Reward Programme Has your child spoken to you about the CIRA rewards or his/her experiences in school with you? • Be a good listener • Ask your child to share his/her experiences in school  Don’t just ask “Any homework today?” “How is school?”  Good starting questions eg “What did you like about school today?”

  13. Oral Health Status • Percentage of our P1 to P6 pupils who has 1 or more decayed teeth is HIGH • Parents are encouraged to remind their children to brush their teeth after every meal

  14. Physical Activity • It is recommended that children should perform physical activities for at least 60 minutes daily How many of you think that your child take part in physical activities for at least 60 minutes daily?

  15. Parental Support • Accompany children to perform more physical activities as a family like – brisk walking, climbing the stairs instead of taking the lift, cycling at the park, swimming, hiking, in-line skating etc.

  16. School Bag • Bring minimal stationery • Carry only the required books and essential items to school • Pack the bags according to the timetable daily

Pocket Money • Right amount of pocket money  Teach children important budgeting lessons  Children learn how to spend  Instil the good habit of saving • Healthy Meals in Schools Programme  Healthy set meals incorporate food from 4 main food groups – rice / noodles + meat + vegetables + fruit  Set meal (medium) - $1.50 • Encourage pupils to drink plain water

  20. Screening Test for entry into Gifted Education Programme (GEP) • To provide opportunities for the intellectually gifted to develop to their fullest potential • Held in Term 3 • Subjects tested : English and Maths • Not compulsory

  21. Learning Journey Social Studies • Objective: To understand about Singapore and instill pride in the country. • Venue: Chinatown • Activities: Guided tour with activity booklet. Pupils will also take pictures and do their reflections. • Date: 9 March 2015 and 10 March 2015
