WHAT IS A COMPLETE STREET? ▪ Complete Streets are streets designed and operated to allow safe and comfortable use by all users. ▪ People walking, biking, riding transit and driving are all accommodated in the available infrastructure, and the street design is compatible with the surrounding land uses. ▪ County policy since 2007 Master Transportation Plan (MTP) ▪ Streets are public spaces for all people , not for private vehicles alone

  4. S IRVING ST EXISTING CONDITIONS ▪ No complete sidewalk on either side of the street, ▪ small section of sidewalk on the east side in front of two properties ▪ on-street parking allowed on both sides of the street

  5. PROJECT GOALS: ▪ Safety for all users, with care taken for pedestrian experience ▪ Reduce/eliminate crashes ▪ Least impact to parking and property ▪ Engage with neighbors, community stakeholders, NCSC at INVOLVE levels ▪ Meet engineering best practices ▪ Consistent with County policy
