master choreographers. Dancers audition for schoolarships throughout the classes which are announced at the end of the weekend during the final showcase.

She will be competing a solo. Her goal is to take classes from some great choreographers and audition for a NUVO break-out dancer
weekends with her dance friends at conven- tions, and is excited to be able to learn from some of the best in the industry. She is pas- sionate about dance and wants to use this convention to help her towards her goal of becoming a professional dancer. Shannon is taking dancers from her studio to
great choreographers at this convention to inspire her own choreography. Shannon also wants to help some of her students who have never attended a convention before to pick up
spending weekends with her students. She wants to get the most out of this experience. Crissy is attending NUVO with her 7 year old daughter Savannah. She loves watching her daughter dance and wants the best for her. Savannah is competing a solo at the conven- tion, so Crissy will be helping her get ready and sending her backstage. The rest of the weekend, she will be watching her daughter take classes from the teachers at NUVO, spending time relaxing in her hotel room, and reading. PERSONAS/SCENARIOS

Travis - A Visual Musician - has been dancing since he was 3 years old, starting at his mother's studio (Denise Wall's Dance Energy) training in jazz, lyrical, and contemporary. In his early years, Travis performed on the Showstopper American Dance Championships television show, where he, along with "Dance Energy" won the competition. He made his Broadway debut in the 2001 revival of The Music Man, playing the roles of Eddie Mason and Barney Hix and understudying the young male lead, Winthrop. Travis has won several regional and national dance titles, including "Outstanding Male Teen Dancer" (in 2003). Travis was featured in the book Moving Still: A Live Performance, and later toured with the stage show of the same name. He

assisted Wade Robson and Adam Shankman on many TV and movie projects. Travis has been asked back as a resident choreographer for So You Think You Can Dance where he has created memorable pieces. He was then also asked to choreograph for the TV show Dancing with the
82nd Academy Awards, and set a ballet on the Los Angeles City Ballet Company. Travis also

MTV Video Music Awards. Currently based in LA, Travis has collaborated with Nick Lazzarini and Teddy Forance, to create his dream; an LA based contemporary dance company called "Shaping Sound." The company's performance of "Without You" on Dancing with the Stars nominated Travis, Nick and Teddy for an Emmy nomination! Along with the dancers of Shaping Sound and his fellow creators, Travis is starring on Oxygen network's new reality docu-series All the Right Moves, which follows the creators' journey as they launch their company and live together in Hollywood. Travis continues to keep opening up new doors to his career and leading a new generation of choreographers!

1 CHECK-IN.
Make sure you check-in with the attendant backstage 5 numbers before your performance. This is how we know you are ready to take the stage!
2 RELAX.
While waiting backstage for your performance, RELAX! You have put in the time and effort it takes to put on an amazing show!
3 PERFORM.
Self-explanatory. Do your best, and let the judges do the rest! Have fun and good luck!
CHECKLIST
1 BE PREPARED.
Make sure you bring shoes for each style: ballet, hip-hop, tap, and jazz/contemporary. Wear dance clothes and keep your hair
2 BE POSITIVE.
Come to EVERY class with a smile and a positive attitude! This will help you and your teachers make the best experience possible.
3 WORK HARD.
Teachers want to see you trying your best and working hard in each class! Remember, they are watching you for auditions!

Even if you are “dancing up” in an
audition with your age group, and attend the class prior to auditions! Make sure you wear your audition number, and is clearly displayed!
3 TAKE CLASS.
